"Fast-rising pop-rockers Ginger Tom"

Fast-rising pop-rockers Ginger Tom will release their anthemic new single ‘Thought You’d Won’ on Friday the 15th April. Available to stream above, the single is the title track taken from their third EP, and a dramatic showing of their infectious energy, choppy guitar riffs and pinpoint harmonies.

The boys draw on a range of punk and classic rock influences to craft songs chock full of hooks that join the dots between melodic pop and crunchy alternative rock. Originally formed as an acoustic duo in 2014, the band quickly expanded to a four piece and hit the road with a vengeance. They wowed audiences at Universities around the UK when they were hand-picked to join the prestigious Coffeehouse Sessions tour last year, and tour support slots with The Hoosiers, Marillion and The Pigeon Detectives have further swelled their growing fanbase.

Radio has also been quick to spot their knack for earworms, with BBC Introducing spinning their tunes on numerous occasions and presenters from BBC Radio Sheffield praising their pop sensibilities and rock dynamics. - Anthem Reviews

"Get To Know Ginger Tom"

Ginger Tom was originally formed as an acoustic duo in 2014 but the band decided to expand to a four piece band in the UK. Their music is the perfect amount of fun that a lot of punk bands can give you but also mixes in a pop/alternative rock sound. Ginger Tom released their new single Thought You’d Won on April 15th and I simply cannot stop listening to it. If you like bands like You Me At Six, Weezer, Jimmy Eat World, or Catfish & The Bottlemen then you will for sure not want to skip on checking these guys out! I got an awesome opportunity to interview the guys and I couldn’t be more thankful!

LL: Tell me a little background info on your band.
GT: Dan (Ginger) and Tom, started writing music in late 2013 and were joined by Luke (bass) and Alex (drums) in summer 2014. We’ve supported Marillion to a sold out 3000 Wolverhampton Civic Hall, played with The Pigeon Detectives, The South, Go West and went on a tour with The Hoosiers in Autumn 2015. We have 3 EP’s to date, the 3rd was released on the 15th April 2016 with two sold out shows in Doncaster.
LL:At what point in your life did you decide you wanted to make music?
GT: We’ve all been really passionate about music from a very young age, we would say early teens as an average!

LL: Which comes first, music or lyrics?
GT: Usually the music will come first but sometimes its lyrics. So both!

LL: What 3 songs do you require on a road trip?
GT: This is a very very hard question to answer but we will try our best…
1. Wheels – Foo Fighters. Perfect song for a long journey.
2. Hole truth – Don Broco
3. 22 – Deaf Havana
But there’s a million more we could choose!

LL:If you were to fanboy over another musician–who would it be?
GT: Another really hard question for all 4 of us to decide on but I reckon we would all lose our minds if met Dave Grohl.

LL:Most embarrassing or a guilty pleasure song/artist that you like?
GT: Justin Bieber!! We know we shouldn’t but he’s got a voice of velvet.. (Luke’s going to see him in October…)

LL:Who are your musical and non-musical influences?
GT: Musical influences could go on for years!
Here’s just a few: James Morrison, The Script, Motion City Soundtrack, Rise Against, Foo Fighters, Alter Bridge, Fight Star, Mallory Knox, Don Broco
Non musical we couldn’t decide on, so we will just say the Queen. Everyone loves Liz.

LL: Describe your music.
GT: Pop/Rock/Indie with an exciting edge. Melodic, harmony driven songs displaying superb guitar and vocal prowess, backed by a solid dependable rhythm section. That seems a bit too professional but it’s hard to put in words. You will have to listen and decide for yourselves!

LL: Music is subjective, but how does it affect you personally?
GT: We all love music and playing in a band is a dream for us all. It’s brought us together to be best friends and allow us to meet some fantastic people.

LL:What are your goals for your music for the next say– 2 years?
GT: To continue to make make music and gig all around the world! A headline at Wembley would be good! (dreaming big)

LL:Where is the strangest place you’ve ever gotten an idea for a song?
GT: You name a place and we’ve probably had an idea for a song. Even on the toilet…!

Thanks to the guys in the band for their time!
