"Break Thru Radio"

On Ginger and Irene's demo of "SPF", which was featured on her show The Scenic Route:

"This catchy little tune from this Toronto band reminds me of home, and of course, leaves me craving some sweet potato fries."

Slow Hours by Ginger and Irene was also played as background throughout the entire segment. - DJ Laura C Chord

Still working on that hot first release.

Born out of a small apartment living room in Toronto, Ginger and Irene started one summer when a few friends were bored and just wanted to play some music!

The original band has since underwent several name and line-up changes before settling into their current groove. With mutual influences including Sonic Youth, Stereolab and Deerhoof (just to name a few), the one thing that never changed was their desire to work hard, play hard and have a blast creating interesting new music. Their signature sound of simple vocals along with unexpected guitar parts and intricate song structures will have even the most discerning hipster tapping his toes and humming along.

The band has created a loyal and ever growing following after playing iconic Toronto venues such as The El Mocambo, Lee's Palace and the Wavelength Music Series at Sneaky Dee's in 2009, and hope to continue sharing their infectious poppin' rockin' sound with everyone in 2010!
