Ginger And The Ghost

Earlier this year, I fell in love with Australia-based Ginger & The Ghost (@ginger_theghost), who exhibited a bold combination of visual and audible artistry with their single “Where Wolf”. As promised, I’m back with some news of upcoming releases! Tucked away in New South Wales, the duo have been intimately crafting an EP which is set for release in January of next year. “One Type of Dark”, the first single from the EP, is minimalistic and organic, featuring a steady, finger-picked rhythm later accompanied by subtle strings and thumping percussion — all of which serve as a backdrop for standout vibrato-tipped vocals.

Here we go again, back to the land down under to meet Ginger & The Ghost.

She has been compared to Bjork, but in my mind Ginger is her own person. No comparisons, she is incomparable.

Sydney-based experimental-pop duo Ginger And The Ghost are excited to premiere their eagerly anticipated new single "One Type Of Dark" via The Wild Honey Pie.

"One Type of Dark" is the first single from the band's debut EP due for release in Spring 2013.

But first let's check up on their first single released earlier this year, complete with an amazing video.

As musicians and visual artists, Ginger and the Ghost have transformed imagination into song. Hiding away in a converted cement water tank studio in the northern New South Wales hinterland, Ginger And The Ghost found the freedom to create. Driven by the idea of writing and recording in a spontaneous way, they utilised whatever tools were at hand to shape their sound. From bicycle wheels to body percussion, their music is driven by instinct, intuition, and an innate sense of trust in each other.
