Discography

She just released new EP called "Blues Picked Me"all songs written and performed by Ginger with title track co-written with Katherine Dawn Davis-Hicks. The "Blues Picked Me" record is a 6 song EP and the first solo project put out by Ginger. It is being recorded and produced at Fast Horse Studio in Austin, TX by David Marshall and mixed and mastered by Danny Wilburn.

The songs on this album mostly blues with a touch of swing/Gospel thrown in which brings something for everyone on this album. “My First Time Blues” is the one of her first songs written and performed so it had to be on the first album. “Change My Attitude” was inspired by a Lucky Tubb performance in 2011, it is about not taking anyone for granted. “Does It Matter” is a ballad love song a about a past (workaholic) love. “Cherry On My Sunday” was a quote from a drunken patron after one of her performances, just had to use that line in a song. “Pick Up The Phone” is the newest song on the album. Inspired by all the troubles her friends and family have been through lately. Last but not least “Blues Picked Me” the title of the album was Co-written by Katherine Dawn of Viva Texas Records. Is about living in DC were she really emerged into the Blues scene and found her niche.

She has been a guest singer on various projects including Mark Searcy Band "Roadworthy" cd where she was featured on first track singing an old Koko Taylor song "Voodoo Woman" and backups on "Dust In The Sand", "Loopty Loop and Wang Dang Love Thang". Next she did duet called A "RelationshipThat Just Won't Last "with Levi Darr on his brand new album "Now That Your Gone". Then latest project with Kenny Dean singing backups on multiple tracks. CD will be released soon on this project. The past three years she sang with an all girl band called the TX Ladybugs but she recently broke away and started a solo career.

Bio

While somewhat new to the blues she has made her presence known. She has been influenced by some great artists like Koko Taylor, BB King, Bonnie Raitt (who she regularly gets compared to), Susan Tedeschi (who got her interested in the blues) and local Austin talent and friend Carolyn Wonderland (who played on recently released EP).

Recently formed a new band called Ginger Pickett and the Troublemakers which includes Melinda Day and Morgan Harper, Mark Searcy, and Bam Bam Morris.
Also doing some duet work with guitarist Mark Searcy.
