"Her latest CD Charge Laughing is exuberant whirlwind of engaging pop that unabashedly celebrates the Eighties while being firmly rooted in the here and now."
Margaret Moser, Austin Chronicle November 2003 - Austin Chronicle

Leigh seems to me a woman of ambition, but with eyes open wide enough to see that not everybody's ambitions are fulfilled. When she sings, "There's a world waiting for me, or crumble me into the sea," she gives the impression that either would be fine with her as long as she has some grins while she's waiting for whatever happens to happen.

There are enough strong elements here to make me want to hear what Leigh comes up in the future. Steady and assured, her songs are also admirable for their variety of style. Elements of pop, new wave, post-grunge and even a touch of trip-hop fly around like Queer Eye's Carson in a straight guy's closet (so to speak).

"Her soulful voice glides across heartstrings like bow to cello, mixing elements of jazz, blues, rock and pop."

Tara Wilcox, Austin Woman Magazine December 2004 - Austin Woman Magazine

Leigh channels her verve and energy into a style that sounds something like Pat Benatar and Bonnie Raitt jamming at Ani DiFranco's house. Leigh can write up-tempo love songs, but she's at her best when making hard left turns and pulling surprises out of all fields. Hard-charging on the road, Leigh can stay busy in and around Texas but also is in demand in Europe, particularly in Italy.

"Sugar in My Coffee" will open ears, move souls and stir feelings, on this continent and others, with songs such as "Holy World" and "Mexican Man." Pay attention because Leigh will be on time and looking good.

--Jim Beal - Jim Beal, SA Express News

There’s a line in a Bonnie Raitt song that unbeknownst to Raitt, describes Ginger Leighs style as a musician and performer perfectly: “She’s a walking contradiction.”

Leigh struts out on stage, part Bette Midler vamp, part Gibson SG axe swinging rock star. As one of the reigning divas of the Austin Indie scene, Leigh combines her on-stage cabaret antics with soulful lyrics and passionate delivery.

"Smarts is something Ginger Leigh has always demonstrated and her release from earlier this year, Sugar in My Coffee, is another jolt of java-laced groove and sweetly composed tunes. That's not to suggest they're lightweight or otherwise insubstantial, but rather that Leigh strikes a delicate balance between style, substance, and unrestrained rock & roll, especially on songs such as "Close Enough," "Angel," and "Mexican Man." -- Austin Chronicle, Margaret Moser Sept 2006 - Margaret Moser

Their up-beat tempo, funky guitar rhythms, and awesome vocal stylings left me all warm and fuzzy inside, and feet a little sore after dancing. WOW! This is some of the best music I've heard in a long time....I couldn't turn it off until it was finished." --Erick Willing - www.gigamerica.com

"Ginger Leigh is one of the most dynamic, exciting and energizing performers you'll ever see. Her positive outlook, embrace of the audience and rich, heartfelt voice is intoxicating. The moment she steps onto the stage you'll fall in love with her." - Gradient Light Entertainment Media

"Truly incredible show! I loved the theatrics, the comedy, the drama, the high energy- everything! You've got tonality and sincerity that could inspire revolutions, make men cry, and bring families back together:) THEN on the flipside you've got a whole rhythm and blues section right there in your vocal chords that kept me boppin all night! Ginger up there dancing like the pied piper leading all those fools up to the floor.I almost went myself....Lyrical Genious going on all the time- and what is that stuff? It's almost like scat or rap but unlike the other two you were actually speaking intelligibly! I've only heard that kinda of syllabical syncopation from Ani Difranco, and I think it's growing on me. I wouldn't trade it in for any of your ballads though. I like heart felt stuff more'n anything....." --Chris, an e-mail

"Just wanted to say that your performance at Union Square Park in New York City was great, great, and great. I just came out of school.. Baruch College is a few blocks away.. and I saw the stage and the crowd, so I came over. I saw you guys already in performance, and had to just sit down and watch the rest of the show. IT WAS GREAT!!!" -B, New York City

"Ginger is a huge giver of her time and talent to making Austin (and much of Italy, I am told) a better place to live, as I have continually learned over the years." --Duggan Flanakin Famous Blog - www.gleigh.com

Blues/pop/rock diva Ginger Leigh can sling an axe (it appears a Gibson SG is her favorite weapon), and she can belt and wail with the best of ‘em, but she’s got a soft side too. Combining a balls-out aesthetic reminiscent of Joan Jett with sensitive songwriting ability, Leigh’s that rare brand of artist who appeals to both lovers and fighters. Her songs—like “Mexican Man”—consist of imagery simultaneously surreal and concrete, while catchy chord progressions and melody lines float supportively and effortlessly. Think Ani DiFranco, if DiFranco felt compelled to buy a Marshall amp. (Jonanna Widner)
