Bio

Ginger Redcliff

An intoxicating performer.

Ginger Redcliff fills her performances with soul, wit and energy, providing a rich musical experience. Each of her original songs touches listeners in new ways with each hearing. They are a combination of Ginger’s musical experiences, her own unique talents and their arrangements are just as eclectic: in her recordings you might hear a whole orchestra, a lone piano, smooth bass lines supported by a yoghurt lid, scratching, punk howling and seductive crooning, and the crunching chords of power pop.

Ginger, a child of the 90’s, was born in London, but spent most of her life in southern Germany. She has been fortunate in having a culturally rich background, and can sing in German, English, French – even Frisian! She has always been fascinated by the arts, and has been involved in music, dance, drama and film from an early age. So very early in life her six year old sister created her artists name: Ginger Redcliff - “spicy like ginger, red like love and dangerous like a cliff”. Since then she has sung in a number of bands covering all genres of music, but is happiest alone on a stage performing her own songs with Tom Bola playing the bass. "Playing in another band is great fun, you've got other musicians to interact with. Yet, when you're all alone and the interaction is only between you and the audience that's far more exciting."

Last year, Ginger played her original songs in the Admiralspalast in Berlin and received the only encore. "Gosh, that was my first big audience, I think I have never ever been so excited!" At the moment she’s playing innovative coffee house and “living room” concerts all over Germany.

Regardless of what the future holds, Ginger is a dedicated artist, born to express herself ; thankfully, others are starting to listen.
