Giorgio

BandPopSinger/Songwriter

I do write my songs in a very natrual and quick way... Actually this is not my job, and of course having the chance to make music as my hobby gives me the possibility to live and make it in a more natural way.

Biography

Giorgio Onorato Aquilani was born in Tarquinia on march 8, 1983.

Introduced to piano-playing by his godfather Renato Carosone.

Pianist, singer, songwriter, at 17 years old he composes the official Peace anthem for the year 2000 Jubelee, performing it in the Vatican's Gardens in front of the Pope and 112 state chiefs from all over the world.

In 2004 he performs at the Venice Cinema Palace getting the celebrated Gondola d'Oro prize as upcoming international pop figure.

In 2005 he partecipates to an international music challenge organized for Elton John's Captain Fantastic 30th Birthday. He gets the first place being rewarded at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York after composing and singing Dogs In The Kitchen, lyric written by Bernie Taupin and never turned into song by Elton John.

In 2006 he finishes the recording of 11 tracks (in english language) for his first indipendent album named giorgio@aquilani.it, whose songs toured worldwide radio stations!

In 2006 his voice is chosen by sony pictures for the italian version of a song featured in their latest animated movie: Open Season

In April 2007 the song The End Of My Road gets a nomination for best pop song at 17th Annual Los Angeles Music Awards.

In March 2008 IV TOTO – Worldwide TOTO Fans Anthem is released. The project comes out from an idea of Giorgio’s and tours the world. The track features Bobby Kimball as special guest.

In April 2008 - Giorgio performs his own music in the greatest theatre in the world, LA FENICE in Venice for the event: Biennale Della Poesia.

In June 2008/10 Giorgio starts the recording of his second album, a big international project with over 30 of the best and legendary musicians of all time, together with Giorgio for the Party Of The Century.

---

It's real, and it's called The Party Of The Century, probably the most spectacular music record project ever happened. Two years of intense work all around the world, 30 of the world's most influential and legendary musicians put together by the tireless enthusiasm of the young talent Giorgio Onorato Aquilani. Wanting to make something remarkable, Giorgio wrote down 10 original songs together with his lyric partner Ivan Nossa dreaming to involve the best musicians on earth.

Giorgio's concept for his new album is the vision of a "big mansion" hosting an unforgettable music Party. Giorgio reached out to his musicians friends and heroes, getting back an incredible number of "I'm in, man!!!". The Party crew so stepped up, adding their individual specialty to what has become an exceptional original music project.

A musical journey through 11 songs recorded all over the world and performed by the best musicians and human beings ever existed. A record to be lived and enjoyed in full, thanks to all the backstage material you’ll be able to dig around the official website, facebook and myspace page.

In a world made of numbers, our will is to let people know that dreams can still come true... and music is the right key to make it happen!

The Man Who Sat Watching Trains Go By

Written By: Giorgio / Ivan Nossa

Verse:
There’s a middle aged man I heard them say
He stands all the day near an old railway
That’s funny how he watches trains run on their track
He moves accordingly his long thin neck

Pre-Chorus:
He sits quietly and moves slowly as a snail
Just stares at trains, and follows their trail

Chorus:
Sometimes he waves at some faces
Picking carefully their smiles
Every cloud of steam, its own dream
Ah ah ah, its own dream

Verse:
Every single train is a long desired wish
Like a drop of rain on a lonely dry fish
He checks all the engines, they all look so nice
And staying there for hours is no sacrifice

Pre-Chorus:
He sits quietly and moves slowly as a snail
Just stares at trains, and follows their trail

Chorus:
Sometimes he waves at some faces
Picking carefully their smiles
Every cloud of steam, its own dream
Ah ah ah, its own dream

Spoken:
Sometimes we all like hearing or telling a story
With deep meanings and an end of glory
And this one, I can assure you guys
It’s one of them

Pre-Chorus…

Chorus…

The End Of My Road

Written By: Giorgio / Ivan Nossa

Verse:
There was a little rolling stone
Rolling close to my home
The day I sold my diamond ring

Heading for sunshine and spring
A little boy crossed my way
I can remember all of that day
And so we shared a bit of my road

There was a cool blowing wind
Blowing all around my face
When I reached the middle of my way

And a barking dog smiling till late
When he crashed out had no choice
I still can hear his deep voice
And so we shared a bit of my road

Pre-Chorus:
I walked a long long time
I traveled miles and miles
Just moving all alone

Chorus:
Just to see the end of my road
I sat there for a while
With a joyful smile I was just
Just at the end of my road

Verse:
There was a shining little light
Spreading joy through the night
The day I reached the end of my way

It was like a falling star
But I believe was my heart
We knew it has been so from the start
And so we shared the end of my road

Pre-Chorus…
Chorus…

Write me

Written By: Ivan Nossa

Write Me

Write me a letter, please write me soon
At night when your fears come out under the moon
Write to me when the tanks get a pause
Let me see your smile so far though so close
You told your parents, through fears and tears
You wanted to go where the night’s never clear

You left cracking leaves on a sidewalk
Just the day after our night-long talk
You, your hopes, your loaded backpack
Acting so proud, shouting freedom out loud
You carried the hope for a new world to come
But you just went to war, leaving peace on that door

One more guy that went away
Just one more cigarette in the ashtray
Write to me my soul mate
Write about your creeps, your twisted fate

I guess you are counting bodies down in the streets
And wondering around where lovers can’t meet
What do you wish for? Crying for the moon,
Walking like a ghost where no flower bloom
Should I work and pay for your bullets
You may not agree but this sounds all so useless

One more guy that went away
Just one more cigarette in the ashtray
Write to me my soul mate
Write about your creeps, your twisted fate
Let me tell you, all your friends are very well
While you’ frightened, fighting in hell

Poem To Life

Written By: Giorgio / Ivan Nossa

Spread little wings just 20 years ago
Began to smile as often as the river flow
Opened those dark eyes so lively and smart
Glad to meet the world for a brand new start

A big family all around
Wealthy and busy, money making bound
Lonely in a crowd, adored by mum
Soon left to splash to the life sun

Europe became a home, and friends a big house
Some of them will stay, some will run like a little mouse

This is the story of a young bedroom lie
Who’s stronger than life and will never die
But a million smiles are stronger than a sin
Please never give up, somehow you will win

One night a smile, opened arms confusing love
Then on this tender life landed a black dove
Trembling heart, sweet desire and sparkling joy
In such a little time your life became a toy

I hope someday life reads this poem through
Then thinks it over and gives joy back to you

This is the story of a young bedroom lie
Who’s stronger than life and will never die
But a million smiles are stronger than a sin
Please never give up, somehow you will win

I met you soon after the four letter illness
I saw you in your beauty and paranoid perfection
I shared a little bit of your time and your mess
Life’s been un fair, played you like a game of chess

Black Coffee and a Friend

Written By: Giorgio / Ivan Nossa

Here's a nice place, come sit down with me
What would you like my friend?
I'm gonna have a black coffee, that's fine
Maybe later a cool glass of wine

What are you thinking, what's in your mind
I might be high but not blind
I can reflect myself in your tears
Same eyes, same look, same fears

Life is short,
Time goes fast
Only a few things
Are made to last
One of these
Is a good friend
So smile
I'll walk with you to the end

But watch me now, watch my eyes unfold
I am a bit old, not sad but rather bold
'Cause I know things seem tough at times
We feel so void and nothing rhymes

Life is short,
Time goes fast
Only a few things
Are made to last
One of these
Is a good friend
So smile
I'll be with you to the end
