Bio
Anogeia is the village of a dynasty of musicians, poets and even Cretan politicians.
Anogeia is the city of the Xylouris family.
Nikos mythical singer, dead too young in 1980, stayed the idol of the country. His brother Psarantonis has gone through the best of the Cretan repertoire with his hoarse voice and the sensational flights of his lyra.
Giorgis Xylouris is the son of Psarantonis and the nephew of Nikos, his brothers and sisters are also musicians and singers. He carries in him an enormous heritage and an evident know-how, learnt in particular from his father.
The repertoire of Cretan songs and the rhythms of the laouto are the breath of its life.
