"Digital Metal CD Review"

Fronted by acid throated female Tonya, GSHG are all over the musical map with an ADD addled, spastic take on metal that’s part grind, part post rock, part screamo, part industrial and part thrash. Phew. The end result, while certainly caustic, will appeal to today’s modern myspace metal youth - Erik Thomas Digitalmetal.com

"World Wide Punks CD Review"

GSHG has created a new genre of music, and I call it GirlScoutCore. Its a Metal-Industrial-Grind-Hardcore blend. The blend is phenomenal! And the female singer makes it kick that much more ass!

I have a 6 disc changer in my car, and it rarely had CDs changed out.... I listen to the same shit all the time. I have friends who will put in a CD, listen to one song, then swap it out, then listen to one song, then swap it out.. etc.. not me. I put good shit in my changer, and it stays... for a very long time... GSHG has replaced BGK in my disc changer, and is now officially CD 6.

Get your hands on this fucking CD! It will totally rip your fucking face off. - CJ worldwidepunks.com

"Show Review"

"This band is brutal, blow by blow. A must see live band that delivers the intensity that most metal bands could only wish for."

Forming in September of 2002, Girl Scout Hand Grenade ferociously started attacking
the process of songwriting and promoting. In less than 6 months we had written thirteen songs and handed out over 2500 copies our 2 song demo. We then prepared to take our unique blend of Electronic Jazz infused Metal to the masses the way art is supposed to be experienced, live and in your face.

By March 2003 we had played our first show at Ferris State University and went on to play explosive high energy shows at some of Michigan's largest venues including Harpo's, The Machine Shop, and Clutch Cargo's. We have also opened for national bands such as Otep, American Head Charge, Bile, Dog Fashion Disco, GWAR, Dying Fetus, and Candiria. We continued to crisscross the state playing over a hundred shows during 2004.

In 2005 we teamed up with the Canadian organization Food4Music to host the first international benefit show to aid the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. This has since become an annual event which has raised $2,500 and over 800 lbs of food. We are also part of a group called the Flint Death Squad which is a coalition of bands that work together to set up shows, promote each others projects and help each other anyway we can to support and strengthen the local music scene.

In 2006 we released our debut EP "They Want You Sedated so you never see the truth" and unfortunately parted ways with our drummer soon after. Our present line-up is Andrew Hargrove on Bass Guitar, Tonya Traweek on Vocals, Tahir Syed on Drums and myself (Mike Brooks) on Guitar/Vocals/Electronics.

Currently we are in the process of recording tracks for a split album which we plan to release with friends from the music community. We are also playing local shows with plans to go on a nation wide tour this fall.

We are a band with a mission that believes activism and community are as important as the music. We come from a punk rock mentally that everything worth doing is worth working hard for. We want to change the world with music and change lives for the better just like music has done for us. If we can affect one person in a positive way with our art then we have done our job. We are the dreamers and we are the warriors.
