Bio

Now playing in clubs and venues all over NYC, Girls Don't Cry combines the best of rock and pop---a polished, tight sound mixed with a powerful edge. Catchy five-part vocals, retro synth sounds and danceable grooves give Girls Don't Cry their signature sound. The band is made up of five girls from all over the United States (New Jersey, Massachusetts, New York, Iowa, and Texas) who landed in New York City to pursue their musical careers. Over the past year and a half the band has recorded a dozen songs, played all over NYC including The Mercury Lounge, The Cutting Room, The Bitter End, Pianos, the Knitting Factory and Arlene's Grocery, appeared on NYC's #1 rated evening radio talk show The Joey Reynolds Show and even played The Pond at Bryant Park and Brooklyn's popular McCarren Park.

Hannah Fairlight - Guitars and Vocals
Born in the midwest and raised throughout the United States by parents who are equally nature lovers as well as art and music enthusiasts, 20-year old Hannah is the middle child among two red-headed siblings. She graduated high school a year early to study abroad in South America. Her travels have lead her to NYC where she is majoring in Film and TV at NYU’s world renowned TISCH School Of The Arts. With
12 years of study on classical piano and 8 on sax, Hannah rounds out her musicianship on guitar and vocals.

Sora-An - Guitars and Vocals
The daughter of South Korean immigrant parents, Sora was born and raised in Houston, TX. She first picked up her father’s guitar at the age of 7 and taught herself how to play. She immediately started improvising and coming up with her own chord patterns and melodies. By the time she graduated high school, Sora was busy writing songs in her characteristic alt-punk-pop style. In 2002, at the innocent age of 22, Sora bought a one way ticket to NYC and has never looked back. It has been her life love to pursue a career as a professional musician.

Liz Kelly - Drums and Vocals
Singing was an everyday occurrence in the Kelly household, allowing 20-year old Liz to use her voice as part of her daily routine. Her sister taught her how to harmonize and her mother showed her how to play a few chords on the guitar. Playing in a variety of musical styles and coming up with a sound of her own came naturally to the energetic kid who gravitated to playing the drums as her first instrument. Her music progressed by adding piano, bass, and vocal beat-box. She continued her studies at Berklee School of Music's summer program where she received an award for her songwriting abilities.

Caitlin Gray - Bass and Vocals
Beginning on the piano at age 5, 19-year old Caitlin spent much of her childhood learning to play music. Though her parents did not have an extensive musical background, Caitlin decided early on that she wanted to make music her life. As a student at the New School For Jazz and Contemporary Music Studies, she works hard perfecting her skills on double bass. Girls Don’t Cry gives her an opportunity to rock out on electric bass and vocals.

Rachael Cornick - Keys and Vocals
As a 2 year MVP Volleyball player at Adelphi University, 21-year old Rachael gets to express a different side of her herself as keyboardist and singer in Girls Don’t Cry. No stranger to the stage, Rachael has sung the national anthem for thousands of adoring hockey fans at Nassau Coliseum for the New York Islanders. She has landed leading roles in local productions of Fame, Godspell and the Sound Of Music. With a combined 9-years of classical training as a singer and pianist, Rachael enjoys using technology to help create the sound of the band.
