Girl To Gorilla bring the party! No other bar band in New York tears it up like G2G. If you can't enjoy yourself listening this infectious, hook driven rock quintet you probably think dropping $1000 on bottle service at some club after waiting on line for an hour to do so is a good time. G2G is the people's band. No bullshit artistic or aesthetic pretenses - no rock star attitudes. Just kick ass, in your face, insanely catchy songs about off-kilter topics that will surely make you dance, laugh and tear your clothes off.

Under the Influences Of:
The Clash, Elvis Costello, Joe Jackson, Squeeze, Stiff Little Fingers, Social Distortion, The Pixies, The Pogues, The Ramones, The Buzzcoks, The Dickies, The Kinks, garage, surf, 50's and punk rock and booze.

BIO
John Skocik started Girl to Gorilla (also known in the past as the Piranha Brothers Band and the Murkins) with bass player (The Rev.) Spyro Poulos while having an argument at a bar during Skocik's open mic performance. Poulos was disrupting the performance with comments like "...only pussyboys play that accoustic shit Skocik! Grow a set and buy a Fender for chrissakes!" When Spyro woke up in the gutter later on, staring down at him was Skocik, who challenged the bass player to put his money where his mouth was and start a band.

They recruited a guitarist and a drummer who then fled the band because evil,rock-and-roll hating, devil women spirited them away.

This ironically led to Skocik and Poulos being exiled to the open-mic scene, After starting to lose their minds, having listened to one too many awful John Mayer and Annie Defranco impersonators, they met drummer Steve Pang.

Pang introduced them to Viola player Amalia Daskalakis and guitarist Simon Rosa and all was well with the world once again.
