"Titusville plans 'School's Out' street party"

By Debbie Roberts

No more teachers, no more books, so get ready for a "School's Out" street party in historic downtown Titusville... Highlights include games and activities for youth of all ages, and performances by GirlZone, a young group of pop singers from Central Florida who were a big hit at this year's Indian River Festival, said Marcia Gaedcke, chamber President.

"After their performances, people were getting their autographs and buying their CD's," said Gaedcke. "They seemed to really enjoy the group."

...GirlZone is the featured entertainment for the "School's Out" street party... - Florida Today, June 4, 2004

Still working on that hot first release.

Feeling a bit camera shy

GirlZone is Florida girls at their best! GirlZone has an innovative pop/rock/electro/alternative sound. Their 3- and 4-part harmony and sound has been compared to the likes of Atomic Kitten and the Spice Girls, yet GirlZone has their own unique style and stage presence that captivates audiences. There is not a stage around that does not belong to GirlZone!

During 2003, GirlZone moved audiences with their infectious music. The girls are not only incredibly talented; they're stars on the move!

Making people happy and the love of singing are the forces that drive these girls to a higher level. GirlZone performed numerous shows in 2003 and the number is on the rise in 2004.

Amanda, Carlia, Amber and Christy are teens based in Central Florida where they continue recording and performing. At the same time, GirlZone is very excited to be in the forefront of Teen music in Central Florida.

Amanda comes from a family of entertainers. I come from a very musical family. Both of my parents sing, as do both sets of my grandparents, my aunts, and cousins. When not singing Amanda is a competitive swimmer for her High School team and Swimming Club.

Carlia has been singing since she could talk and took the stage at the age of 5 - singing Pocahontas! Besides being a dance team captain, she's starred in multiple plays and toured professionally with a theatre group. She's been seen throughout Florida singing the National Anthem at various sporting events. . "I love every kind of music from rap, to country, to jazz (anything that has a good dance beat)."

Amber won over 35 titles in beauty pageants since the age of 6 weeks to age 8, including two titles with Hawaiian Tropic. Her two passions are singing and dancing. Amber loves all types of music from country to pop and rock, plays trumpet, drums and works at playing the guitar. She says at the age of 18, "I want to jump out of a plane (preferably with a parachute)!"

Christy says her dream came true when she found out she was going to be in GirlZone! Music has always been her great passion in life - singing, listening or dancing. She has always been on stage including when she climbed on a stage at age 3, singing and dancing to a crowd of people cheering and clapping! She has been dancing ever since she could walk and has studied in forms such as gymnastics, ballet, street jazz, and lyrical - well, she has just about done it all! She has also performed in plays at local theaters and church. At other times, you can find her hanging out with friends or at home watching a movies! Christy says that being in GirlZone is a lot of fun, very hard work and is willing to work hard to help take GZ straight to the top!

Barbara Browning, their manager, brought these girls together, and it was only a matter of time until they finished recording their debut CD which was released in February of this year.
