Lyrics

treehouse

Written By: Giselle Rosselli

I made myself a treehouse
where I could hide away
I built myself a castle
and travelled there each day
I climbed into a tower
and locked each every door
but never did I realise, those walls were not secure
no never did I realise, those walls were not secure

I swung from that treehouse.
made music there everyday
I slayed five hundred dragons
in that castle far away
I spotted new found planets
from that tower in the sky
but when I lay in darkness, alone at night
there was no one I could call on to scare away my fright

Cause when I let someone in
and threw back the doors
the walls all caved in
they crumbled

I fell down from that treehouse
the ladder was left behind
I whisked away that castle
watched it breakdown over time
I climbed down from that tower,
it got covered all in vines
But only now I realise, those walls were in my mind
yeah, only now I realise those walls were in my mind

So we've made ourselves a treehouse
but there’s no need to hide away
our friends they come and see us
and laughter fills each day
the world now looks so different now my fear is at bay
yeah the world now looks so different now those walls have gone away

Cause now I’ve let someone in
and thrown back the doors
the sunlight can come in
I’m humbled
