The Glaciers are a mix of alt country, indie rock and a little bit of pop. They bring up comparisons to Cat Power and Beth Orton. There is a strong emphasis on melodies with lush instrumentation including pedal steel, strings and trumpet.

Biography

Jackie and Ian started The Glaciers about three years ago. They were playing with a couple different groups at the time (including the Mendoza Line) and lived in a house out in Queens. Ian ran a studio out of their basement, and they started working on their own material down in the damp mess of instruments and mangled stuffed animals. Friends came over and added tracks, time passed, and suddenly they had a great live band. The Glaciers started playing out about two years ago and since then we've played all over the city at clubs such as Mercury Lounge, the Knitting Factory (the Old Office, Tap Bar, and the main space!), Fez, and Sin-é.
