GlenCheyo is a newly formed five-piece ensemble that’s driven by a mutual love for all types of music. With members hailing from New York, San Francisco, Boston, and Baltimore, the band draws from a big bag of influences, blending equal parts funk, soul, hip-hop, and jazz—and even the occasional taste of reggae and latin music—into an organic and wholly original sound that’s as fluid as it is catchy. On any given track, lead singer Glynn Davis flows smoothly between heavy-hitting rhymes and the sugar-sweet sounds of soul, while the tight-knit instrumental accompaniment (including a full horn section) deftly matches her every move.
