"Glencoe Road releases debut CD Deep little Tale"

Glencoe Road, original country rock group from the Montague area, P.E.I. just released their all original debut CD entitled, Deep Little Tale. This group by all accounts upon releasing their new CD will be a band to watch out for in 2009. The group comprises of, Soyna Pauley, rhythm guitar/vocals-Michael Buell, backbone of the group plays guitar, fiddle and vocals-Trevor Wade MacInnis plays bass and Alex McCosham plays drums.
Their CD launch took place at the Montaque Curling Rink on July 17/09 with 150 people in attendance.

The CD contains all original songs, and I must say this album has awards written all over it. There are 12 original songs on the CD and Michael and Sonya wrote all 12 songs. This is an amazing feat by 2 band members. The CD jacket contains all words to the songs and makes it easier for listeners to sing along. Sonya and Michael have been playing, writing, co-writing, performing and singing since 2006 and this brings a lot of strength to the album. David Rashed produced the album in his Charlottetown studio.

Here are the song titles:

Deep Little Tale-Could Be You-Warm Winds Blow

Hallelujah-Fly Away-Hey Hey

Norman-Here I Go Again -Standing There

Feels So Right-Stormy Days-Rock 'n' Roll Man

Fans will not be disapointed with this album and Atlantic Seabreeze gives this album high marks on its rating list.

Bio

Sonya Pauley met Michael Buell August 20, 2006 when she went to his house in Caledonia for electric guitar instruction and tips. Over three months a deep friendship developed and it was obvious there was a lot more electricity between them then just their guitars; Sonya and Michael have been playing, writing, co-writing, performing and singing together ever since in a band named Glencoe Road; after the location where the group rehearses. Sonya still prefers her Canadian made acoustic folk guitar Norman to her electric Daisy Rock but Michael continues to rock out on both his electric Baby Strat as well as his Acoustic Norman.
The duo continued performing themselves with some special guest players such as Gary Waterman (harmonica) and Abe Waterman (electric slide) until Jan. of 2009 when Sonya and Michael hooked up with a talented young drummer named Alex McCosham and soon to follow was the creative force of Billy McCormack who joined the band on the bass. It was the perfect combination! The players fit nicely together and the band was complete. They have been practising and perfecting the original songs written by Sonya and Michael ever since.
Michael Buell has been influenced by Rock n' Roll, Country, Roots and Traditional music. As a child he would sit behind his father Harry Buell as he played the guitar and the fiddle for various local house parties and before too long Michael was picking up the guitar and taught himself to chord and has been in love with the guitar ever since. He has been writing his own original music and lyrics since he was a teenager. Let's just say thirty-six years and counting. He has played in four major groups in his life Donnie and the Boys (18), River Country (2), Purebred (2), and his current love Glencoe Road (3 years …) Michael is a very creative musician who can pick up and play anything. His love of original music and lyrics is an essential asset to Glencoe Road and his excellent musicianship is the back bone of the group. His unique guitar playing described as rock n' roll played country style gives the music a fresh, fun dancable twist that will keep your foot a tapping through out their show.
Sonya Pauley started to learn how to play the guitar in 1995 mainly so she could use it as the main instrument for her song writing. Since then she has turned into a solid rhythm guitar player. Singing and writing was always her first passions ever since she was a young child. Sonya always loved making up lyrics to songs but she never began to write her own songs down on paper until 2005; her passion for writing has since taken off. Her favourite part of being in a band is learning from and co-writing with her partner Michael. With Michael's creative guitar licks and Sonya's emotionally drawn lyrics who knows where their song-writing paths will lead them in the future. Sonya and Michael both feel they have found their perfect co-writing partner!

Billy McCormack has been playing and singing almost his whole life. He started writing songs when he was in his teens. He inherited his musical talent from his dad Smiling Bill McCormack who came from a large musical family. Billy's played in several bands and performed on his own as well.
Billy is an experienced bass player who is blessed with a musical talent and natural rythmn rarely seen today.
Alex McCosham has grown up playing drums along with his brothers who all play various instruments. Not only does Alex keep the beat with the band, he is the beat of the band! His timely, precision drumming has made the band into a tight unit. Listen for one of PEI's best drummers on the Glencoe Road debut CD due out in the summer of 2009.
