Bio

Escaping from this perceived to be real paradox can easily be induced by the enchanting music of local soon to be mega star Toronto Pop/Rock band Glen Morrow Mews. These independent and classically trained musicians recorded their first record, Oh Five Till We Die, at sixteen years of age. The significance of their debut title is that the group started anew in 2005 and they plan on sticking to it until they are old and wrinkled.

Now, legally able to perform in Canadian bars, these handsome young gentlemen find themselves kicking ass and chewing bubblegum. 2007 brought successes for the band, touring with the Bubblicious & West 49 Skate Tour and winning almost every battle of the band competition they’ve entered from Toronto to Ottawa. These guys sell tickets, build posters, and maintain a Myspace while practicing their asses off.

With any special band, comes a special story: Dave had spent much of his formative years at his grandparents farm, Glenmora. When he approached the band after its first week of creation with his idea, the bands former drummer immediately mentioned Glen Morrow Mews, the name of the street his mother lived on, in the east side of Toronto. They discovered that the word "mews" meant a common meeting ground or a place where people come together. The lights of destiny went on above their heads and thus, Glen Morrow Mews came into being.

This rockin’ pop explosion is comprised of Dave Ricci (lead vocals, guitar), Jules Lynch (bass), Rainer Millar-Blancher (lead guitar), Art Gamola (drums).
When Jules and Rainer first met Roman, they were blown away that this youngster had recorded a whole album on his own at 13 years old. Roman pulled the ol’Dave Grohl by recording guitars, bass, drums and synth all on his own. Needless to say they felt this was a guy they could be comfortable working with, “A lot of it was just raw talent” Rainer says about Roman. “Dave wrote pop songs and we wanted to give it a bit more of an edge. We took a progressive stand point using our classical training to develop the song structure” says Jules. Rainer adds, “Our first drummer couldn’t play to a click track, so we were forced to find a new one. We are really happy with Art, he’s amazing.”

GMM has released two new self-produced single on their Myspace which have generated significant hits among fans. Escape is the first cut which brings the listener on a journey for truth with tight soothing guitar harmonies and driving drums. Dave’s voice meanders as a guide for this journey while Jules holds solid and original bass lines underneath the mesmerizing synth pads. The second track is called Drowning Galaxies which further proves GMM’s musical genius as a band writing songs far ahead of their time, “I know we’ll see a legend through the eyes of destiny, we’ll wait for that day, the legend finds his way and sets us free.”
The band is currently in pre-production with MetalWorks Studios Engineer Giancarlo Gaillo (Alexisonfire, Silverchair), who is co-producing the record with band, preparing for the self-titled upcoming release due in 2008.
