"Pick of Club NME UK - GLINT"

"Grandoise space-rockers from New York, Glint turn up to Club NME this week with their-superb and subversive soundscapes and self-titled EP. Catch them now before they go stellar." - NME Magazine

"Gig Glint"

"Whether we really need another Coldplay, Muse or Killers clone is debatable, but Glint actually manage to sound like all three, while still retaining their own identity. And you can imagine Chris Martin looking jealously at Glint's forthcoming single Freak, an anthemic fusion of guitars and synths that would sound brilliant souring through a stadium.

Muse's Matt Bellamy is a clear influence on Glint singer Jase Blankfort, but the New York outfit are arguable even more epic than the British band, full of glistening synths, massive hooks and orchestral swatches. Already causing a rumpus in the US, Glint have been compared to David Bowie, Portishead and even Mogwai - all widely off the mark.

The imminent UK release of their debut EP should raise their profile nicely: it's thrilling to imagine where they could go from here. This may be your only chance to catch them in relatively intimate surrounds before the inevitable arenas." - Metro UK

"New Blood: Glint"

"New Yorkers Glint paid a visit to the UK last month to promote their new self-titled EP, which is their debut release and was mixed by Michael Brauer (Coldplay, Doves). If Muse and early Radiohead is your thing, then you should catch them live." - Artrocker Magazine

"Billboard Underground"

"irresistible [...} air tight live show." - Billboard Magazine

Bio

With haunting vocals, lush guitars and climactic percussion all set against a dramatic ethereal electronic soundscape, GLINT, the groundbreaking new electro-art-rock act from New York City, is nothing short of compelling.

Live, the band mesmerizes with their flawless execution and transfixing performance as they create layer upon stunning layer of sound. The Deli put it well, saying “pianos and cymbals battle it out in the musical solar system of Glint’s open and glimmering sound, as the vocals pull elements from Muse and a little bit of Bowie here and there.”

Since the band’s original formation by lead singer and songwriter Jase Blankfort and drummer Mateus Tebaldi, GLINT has evolved as a live act and studio band. Their debut release, 2008’s Sound in Silence (co-produced by Nic Hard [The Bravery] and Jase Blankfort) and captivating live show have received bountiful critical praise. Billboard Magazine deemed GLINT an “air-tight and irresistible” live act and the highly influential NME raved “catch them now before they go stellar.”

In support of Sound in Silence, GLINT embarked on a highly successful overseas tour in which they covered 10 countries and played 30 shows in 40 days. The band has also shared festival stages with MGMT, Black Lips and Deerhunter and has toured with The Airborne Toxic Event and Crystal Antlers.

In addition to the band’s music being featured on hit TV shows like “Friday Night Lights” and “Melrose Place,” the song “Freak” (from the band’s upcoming EP) was spotlighted by NME as a “Download Of The Week” and the song “Damaged Goods” was an iTunes Discovery Download, receiving more than 200,000 single downloads.

GLINT will release a self-titled EP, mixed by Michael Brauer (Coldplay, Doves, My Morning Jacket) this March in conjunction with their South By Southwest Music Conference performances.

The band will spend most of 2010 on the road winning over fans and critics worldwide with their enthralling live performance.
