Bio

„Glo Bal Kan projekt“ is a new musical project, initiated by Nedyalko Nedyalkov and created by the four musicians in July 2017. The band presents originally authored music as well as samples from authentic bulgarian, balkan and world folklore arranged in the band's own style. The band has already recorded a couple of pieces authored by Nedyalko Nedyalkov and two bulgarian songs - all arranged by the four musicians. During the performance you will hear Libertango, the world famous piece by Piazzola, but rearranged in uneven beats and named “Libertango ala Bulgaro“. As Nedyalko says: „I've been dreaming for a long time to do this arrangement and now I am glad that the rest of the musicians like the idea and enjoy performing it. We can already notice that the piece is well accepted by the youtube and facebook audience with over 30 000 views and 300 sharings“. Another song intriguing the internet audience is “Tima’s eleven“ – a „kopanitza“ dedicated to Nedyalko's wife – the folklore singer Stoimenka Nedyalkova. It’s not the four musicians' first time performing together. Throughout their careers they have met on stage many times.
Nedyalko Nedyalkov has represented Bulgaria in various projects all over Europe, Africa, Asia, the Near East and North America. In addition to his concerts, he has also recorded music for film and theater, as well as for radio and television broadcasts. Over the last several years, Nedyalko Nedyalkov has participated actively in a series of international projects featuring musical styles including ethno-jazz, world, Baroque and ancient music. In mid-2009, Nedyalko found himself facing a great opportunity and creative challenge which in and of itself marks a new stage in his professional career. He was personally invited by Jordi Savall, a prominent contemporary musician, conductor, and ambassador for intercultural dialogue around the world, to take part in a major new project by Maestro Savall and Montserrat Figueras entitled ‘’La tragédie Cathare”, which concerns the history of the Bogomilism. This encounter laid the foundations for joint creative work and cooperation that continues to this day and has resulted in numerous concerts and new projects, including “Mare Nostrum”, ”La Sublime Porte”, “Balkan Spirit", Bal*Kan-“Cycles of Life” and “Dinastía Borja”, which was awarded a Grammy in 2011 for Best Small Ensemble Performance.
Vladimir Karparov is a bulgarian saxophonist who has shown his unique talent at an young age and has been awarded multiple awards, incl. „Best young jazz performer“ in 1996 by Soros foundation. Since 2002 Karparov lives in Berlin, where he was graduated by the musicalconservatory „Hanns Eisler“. Vladimir Karparov is a long time musical partner of Stoyan Yankoulov in the ZONE C jazz band as well as in other ethno and folklore bands. Around 6 years ago the famous belgian jazz trio Aka Moon invited Stoyan Yankoulov, Nedyalko Nedyalkov, Tima and Vlado Karparov in a new project called Aka Balkan Moon – based on bulgarian folklore and uneven beats. This brings the musicians together on stage in many european countries.

The guitarist Petar Milanov is recognized by the audience for his duet with the rebeck performer Hristina Beleva and their two folklore and ethno-jazz albums and concerts(„In Focus“, 2011 „Let me tell you“, 2014). He started his career at the „Filip Kutev“ ensemble, where he was influenced by the world famous bulgarian composer Georgi Andreev. Petar is also part of orchestra in Kamen Donev’s performances „Wedding stories“, „Folklore“, „Orkestrachi“ and others. He has created an album with the singer Darina Zlatkova („Just Feel“, 2017), and recordings and performances with the folklore singer Vanya Valkova. Another recent project with Peter Milanov's participation is the last album of „Mystery of bulgarian voices“ with composer Petar Dundakov and vocalist Lisa Gerrard (Dead Can Dance).
Stoyan Yankoulov is a bulgarian drummer carrying multiple awards for his contribution to the popularization of bulgarian folklore and jazz music abroad. He carries a „Gold statue“ for his extraordinary contribution to art and for presenting the bulgarian culture abroad. Yankoulov performs in rock, pop, jazz, world and folklor styles. He breaks out of and broadens the traditional drum, tupan and percussion playing styles, applying new techniques and non-standard ideas. By combining authentic folklore with new means of percusion expression, he reveals the unlimited diversity and emotional precipitation unique to the bulgarian culture. Nedyalko Nedyalkov is a member of the „Bulgarian national radio“ orchestra. He teaches kaval and balkan music at different forums abroad.
