Bio

With energy, attitude and a magnetic presence, few debut artists will make an impression quite like Gloss Da Boss, an Atlanta native who is known to spit a mean 16 on one track and belt out a celebratory anthem on another, all the while strutting her stuff in 5-inch Louboutins. Since she was a kid, the exotic beauty had a love for all things shiny, which included lip-gloss, hence her stage moniker. Only 22-years-old, the Rapper/Singer/Songwriter, Actress and Businesswoman has grasped the key aspect of success- personal branding. With a lip-gloss and clothing line in the works, as well as film, TV and on-line projects lined up, it makes sense that she is also known as the ‘Global Mogul.’ Gloss Da Boss is on a mission of world domination.

Being born in Harlem, New York but raised in the suburbs of the south, the sassy, yet always lady-like fashion plate combines the inspiration of both cultures into everything she does. Her music is Hip-Hop, Pop, Rock and R&B-influenced- an organic blend of who she is as an all-encompassing artist. She cleverly labels her unique brand of Hip-Hop as “urban suburban” being that while she was educated in the ‘burbs, she is also an around-the-way girl that can hold her own. “My music is like a globally party- fun, energetic and inspiring but at the same time it has a hard edge. Being able to creatively express and explore these different sides of my personality is an amazing experience because as I continue to evolve, so does my sound.”

Gloss began taking her craft seriously at the age of 13. Similar to the early career path of one of her inspirations, Beyonce’, Gloss was also a member of a girl group. The trio performed at various talent shows and wherever they could find an audience, the pint-sized cutie always ended up being the star of the stage. While most people mistook her quietness for shyness, as well as her beauty for vanity, as soon as she got on the mic, she laid all those suspicions to rest. In other words, Gloss transformed into a boss.

Citing the likes of Jay Z, Fabolous, OutKast,Queen Latifah and Mc Lyte as influences, as well as Lil Kim and Lauryn Hill, the luxury-loving young diva understands the importance of paying homage to living legends, as well as keeping her ear to what’s hot in the streets. “I want people to like me and my music because it’s my passion and I am definitely the kind of artist whose music you can play from beginning to end.”

Her imaginative songwriting skills is just one of the many qualities that have attracted some of the industry’s most sought-after artists and producers to co-sign her talent. When she dropped her premiere mixtape, Gloss World: The Introduction in 2010, she fed listeners a teaspoon of her capabilities. Collaborating with everyone from Waka Flocka Flame, Gorilla Zoe, Trina and OJ Da Juiceman, to Zaytoven, Don Cannon and Fat Boi, Gloss Da Boss illustrated how her passion for Hip-Hop is cut from the finest cloth. On her follow-up mixtape The Evolution, she is proving why she is the realest chick in high heels. Much like her stage persona, one finds the charming, southern girl-next-door transform into a sexy, sophisticated showstopper. Her lead singles, “Fly Sh*t Only” featuring Future and “Now A Lata” with Shawty Lo, showcase her B-Girl swag, while the record “Talk Bout” exemplifies Gloss Da Boss’ maturity and boldness. “I enjoy taking risks and experimenting with my music, as well as fashion. The Evolution is truly like a coming out party for me. I’m much more comfortable with who I am as an artist and a woman and you can hear, as well as see that growth.” The production on The Evolution is also a progressive blend of Hip-Pop, with the self-proclaimed ‘Couture Princess’ working with Grammy-nominated producers DJ Montay (Flo Rida, Ice Cube, Ludacris) and Sonny Digital (Beyonce,Kanye West,Future, 2 Chains). However beat banger Zaytoven, who counts Usher, Rick Ross and Gucci Mane as clients, remains a mainstay on the project.

Gloss Da Boss continues to grace red carpets with her sexy yet polished poise and dominate popular news media. She has been featured on Allhiphop.com, Worldhiphop.com, XXLmag.com, Ozone.com, Thisis50.com, Sister2Sister.com, AtlantaExaminer.com, Hip-Hop Weekly, Sheen Magazine, Mandatory Business, Be-Entertained, Showoff, Sizurp and landed the cover of Flyer Promo Now, the first female MC to do so. Gloss Da Boss is also a contributing Style & Beauty writer for Be-Entertained Magazine, which is published quarterly. She has shared the stage with a myriad of chart-topping artists including Ace Hood, Twista, Yung Joc, Yo Gotti and Trina, to name a few.

Gloss Da Boss finds the time in between her busy schedule to give back to her community, a role she takes very seriously. Her “Be A Boss” program is a reading initiative she launched in 2010 in order to help combat illiteracy amongst middle and high school students. “I have a passion for helping others and this is just
