Biography
In mid 2010, 5 of the most promising rappers fused together to form a rap group; consisting of, Young Chikkin, Poomane, Yung Lo, Yung Pimp, and Murda Mann ranging from ages (20-26) & all hailing out of Orlando Fl. They got their first real glance into the music industry by watching the DJ, Songwriter, and producer “Uncle Fred” produce for a group called the “Breadwinners”. While growing up they listened to music from rappers such as “Silk The Shocker”, “Lil Wayne”, and “Field Mob” and from that point on, the group was entitled to embark on a music journey of their own. The guys then began free styling any and everywhere to a variety of beats and beat boxers which ultimately gained the group some exposure and led them to being discovered by the CEO of C.R.E. (Criminal Ridaz Entertainment) Solo G.
Yet, it wasn’t until Solo G invited them to C.R.E. Studios did they begin to work together and actually form the Official group “G-Fam” better known as “The Glut-Tony Family”. The name Glut-Tony is actually the word “Gluttony” split by a hyphen; which symbolizes “Going for it all”. It was given to the group by “Solo G” and “Projectz Pimp” in reminisce of what they always wanted a group to be. In September of 2010 the group wrote and recorded their very first song called “I’m Boomin” which was featured and released on few of the C.R.E. Compilations. The song expressed the group’s diverse, street swag and a rap style that could capture the attention of any audience. “G-Fam’s” first live performance as a group was in late 2010 when they were booked to perform at “Miss Priss’ Industry Mondays”. After their first show, the group began getting booked at venues such as LAX and 57 West where they received the “DMB Award” and won a few other contests. Above all, the group agreed that it was the love and energy they felt on stage when they opened for “Young Jeezy” in early 2011. The experience solidified the group’s decision to master the art of performance and incorporate a superb stage presence.
Just before the release of their CD “Paper Bassa” tragedy struck the group, as one of their members “Murda Mann” was shot in the back causing him to lose his spleen and almost his life. This situation pushed the group even harder. They began adding more originality and realistic situations into their music. The incident made “G-Fam” strive to become a better and more productive group. The tracks on “Paper Bassa” were full of lyrical versatility, upbeat anthems, and stories about life in the streets. With intentions on being the first major group to blow from the C.R.E. Label, G-Fam continues to be consistent and keep their fans attention as they all anticipate on the release of “Money-Yone City”. If one were ever to ask them “WHY do you guys love music and representing C.R.E. so much? “They’ll tell you from the heart it’s because we “Do It, Do It”.
