"GLYNACE BRINGS A CROWD!"

Glynace writes MUCH more than children's music, but her bread and butter seem to come from the very young, who always connect with "honesty!" She has it in hearts, and we always love diversity ou there! Anyone who manages a top-notch harmony like she can for ME on a folk song has it MADE here! And then she WOWS us with that impeccable fingerpickin' style of hers----how many years did THAT take to work up, GLYNACE?? Congratulations on your new award for your"SUGARBABY cd!!"

"The Talking Stick"

Venice/May 26.
One great venue, three lovely ladies, and an evening of beautiful music. This was the order of the night as sponsored by “TK Promo Presents”, a monthly showcase event at the Talking Stick in Venice. Glynace, Patricia Bahia, & Athena Marie. First up, was the lovely Glynace Eastham hailing from Houston Texas. She begins her set with “Sugarbaby”, from the CD of the same title and is full of wonderful lullaby songs for children. She continues with musings of her childhood in Louisiana, her fond memories of the smell of breakfast cooking, and listening to the radio which she incorporates into her storyteller/songwriter style and charms us with “Lou’siana Rain”. A self-proclaimed folksinger, Glynace is something of a rare gem in these parts, and quite the unexpected musical treat.

"GLYNACE-a FOLK and Children's ARTIST"

"GLYNACE is the up-and-coming "parents' favorite artist for kids!" Her music hugs your heart, and you just can't get it out (but WHY would you WANT to???)
A retired kindergarten teacher who loves seeing kids have fun learning, she stepped out of the classroom and onto the Houston SINGER/SONGWRITER(and kid's) music stages three years ago; and now we wonder how we survived without her! When you hear Award-Winning "Lousiana Rain" or "Mama Pearl," you just KNOW you heard Dolly sing that one! Only you DIDN'T; they are GLYNACE originals!! Well-worth a listen and a singing along--you won't be able to RESIST!
This lady's FOLKY Americana music
will not be laid aside, either! Lots of GREAT stories behind these beautifully-crafted "paintings;" so don't forget to check them out too!" - KPFT 90.1 Radio

"Artist Review: GLYNACE"

This Lady plays it ALL--and WELL!
Her music falls into almost every category, so I can't pinpoint just one! She's so great on stage alone and great too with backup. She can pull musicians out of the audience and play with them and throw in a geat harmony if any artist needs one.
We love her voice--she can sing Mary Travers' low numbers or Baez's high-pitched ones. She does Americana, FOLK, vintage folk and pop, a little country, and her own originals that make everyone sing! No one else can sing French like that, either! And her fingerpicking makes people stop talking to watch. She's good at traditional "chicka" with bass runs too. I put her CD in my jukebox--something I don't do very often.
A real "entertainer," she eases into these "crowd-stopper" songs when my club is too noisy and crowded; and the place gets perfectly silent one line into the song! I have to be honest that I've been in business for 7 years with live performances 4-5 nights a week, and Glynace is one of the few who can quiet my crowd (who are generally appreciators of music; but they are LOUD and like talking to their friends in the bar!)
GLYNACE is not to be missed: every number is either a great original or some oldie you love but haven't heard in YEARS. She's at the top of my "Favorite Entertainers" List. --- Peter Pallas---owner/manager "COSMOS CAFE"--Houston, TEXAS 2007 - Cosmos' Club Flyer--Houston, TX

Bio

GLYNACE brings music into the lives of people! She's a former, EXPERIENCED early childhood teacher, gets to the heart of what kids and adults LOVE! Plays a 1972 Martin 0-16NY w/steel strings
From a South Louisiana childhood, GLYNACE grew up with the radio on all day long in her Mama's kitchen--Hank, Patsy, Tom Paxton, Baez! She was singing young (BEER commercials from the radio at three years???), can't single out a favorite genre--- loves and sings them ALL! Writes, FOLK, Americana, fantastic KIDS , some POP, and some country and Smoky MT Gospel. Kids' reactions to her music are unexpected and completely contagious!
She chalked up years of teaching kids USING music as a successful teaching tool, including her own original songs. A folksinger first and a teacher second, in 2007 she wrote and co-produced an educationally-valid CD for KIDS and PARENTS entitled "SUGARBABY," which has been making a huge impact as a child-and-parent-friendly singalong .All the songs have great upbeat rhythms! In July, 2008, "SUGARBABY" CD won Creative Child Magazine's "Seal Of EXCELLENCE" AWARD, and was featured in their Holiday Issue in December, 2009 and is currently on their website: Then in June 2009, it was awarded "CD OF THE YEAR," also from Creative Child Magazine. www.creativechildonline. com. Parents LOVE the songs as much as the kids because the instrumentals are simple and NOT "overproduced!" Even people without kids love this CD with ear-grabbing FOLK and kids FOLK songs.
GLYNACE is promoting "SUGARBABY" in the USA, Australia, and Europe while she's completing a second kids album AND also an "Americana/folk" CD of mostly original material for more sophisticated listening. GLYNACE has experience with both large and small groups of adults AND children of all ages, and her original music reflects the styles of : (FOLK/POP:)Dylan, Pete Seeger, Joan Baez; Noel Paul Stookey(P,P and Mary;) Tom Paxton; Don Schlitz ("The Gambler",) Van Morrison; Ian Tyson, Nanci Griffith, Patti Griffin; Kathy Mattea; Eagles, Alabama, the music of South Louisiana, and 60's Motown. KIDS MUSIC influences: Pete Seeger, RAFFI, Hap Palmer, Burl Ives, and more) She entertains 5 nights or days each week at private parties, restaurants, clubs, house concerts, and at open mics across Houston, Texas, Dallas, Raleigh/Durham, NC, and Los Angeles, CA, USA. In August of 2007, she performed at "Pestacle Bar" in Paris, France alongside Renaud--European travelis an every summer experience for her! She was selected through Sonicbids to play at the closing party for music professionals and the PRESS at BAM, a citywide music festival in Barcelona Spain in late September, 2009. (Bad luck!!! The benefactor for the festival had to back out and the 10-yr-old festival was cancelled that year! Promises from them of another show, however!)
Glynace enjoys audience interaction-- loves to tell a good story as well as listen to one! BRING on the MUSIC, and sing or jam if you want!!
