Bio

Gravelmouth rose up from the hills of Brown County in late 2010. Founding members Mike Carmer and Douglas Talley needed an outlet for the songs that were starting to fill up their heads and spill out on to Open Mic stages around the Columbus/Nashville, Indiana area. After tossing around the idea of being an acoustic project, they decided on forming an electric Rock band and aptly named it GRAVELMOUTH.

From its inception, Gravelmouth has been on a constant voyage to broaden its musical abilities all while maintaining a party atmosphere for fans of their live show. Through trial and error, they landed on an ever evolving sound they wanted to pursue, and they refuse to look back.

The lineup includes seasoned regional musicians and time-tested music instructors. Jason Densmore (Bass) and Jon White (percussion) are holding down the rhythm section with Doug and Mike providing the guitar grooves. Playing a wide range of covers as well as encompassing a nontraditional writing approach (not to be put in a specific genre box), this band has their sights set on bringing party anthem tunes to the stage each time they take it.

Inspired by many different styles of music, don't be surprised to hear a Rock-based original followed by a Rage Against the Machine cover, followed by their interpretation of a Phish song or a funked out version of one of their favorite “Old School” Rap numbers. These guys will keep you guessing what’s coming at you next and are always trying to leave fans hungry for more.

In their first full year of performing, they have shared billing with many of their favorite artists including 7 Walkers, Dumpstaphunk, Ekoostik Hookah, HL&L, Glostik Willy, and many more. Nobody knows what the future holds for Gravelmouth, but they continue to entertain audiences with their catchy originals, obscure covers, and their high energy live shows. If they can stay true to that, the sky is indeed the limit.

Catch them live on a bar or festival stage near you.
