Bio

Goat is a unique trio combining an exceptional sonic palette with an expansive sense of space and composition. They propel their music forward with a sharp harmonic and rhythmic sensibility, motivic development and a willingness to embrace spontaneity. With a unique arsenal of loops and electronic gadgetry combined with woodwinds, electric guitar and drumset, Goat embarks on a process that spans elements of rock, jazz and modern classical music. Their music is accessible to a large variety of audiences as they combine seemingly disparate genres of music through an abstract filter, spitting them out into a stark blend, creating a distinctive soundtrack for the imaginations of everyone.

Goat includes some of the Pacific Northwest’s most creative musicians:

Skiff Feldspar – guitar/electronics
Skiff Feldspar’s (aka Zach Stewart) guitar style draws from the spirit that created heavy rock, blues/roots music, country and jazz. Skiff has toured throughout the U.S. and Canada and has performed at Folsom Prison and The High Sierra Music Festival. He spent three years with Northwest jam/funk band Flowmotion and has shared the stage with Tony Furtado, Bill Frisell, Jerry Granelli, Mike Dillon, Brad Houser, Steve Kimock, Paquito D'Riviera and many others.

Greg Sinibaldi – tenor sax/electric wind instrument
Greg Sinibaldi brings a history steeped in free jazz, studies in composition and a unique instrument in the ewi (electric wind instrument) to the trio. The ewi is a wind driven synthesizer, which Sinibaldi has programmed to create sounds that give Goat an interesting sound. He draws on his experience as a jazz player, new music interpreter and composer in his bands Frieze of Life, Cipher, and Vena Cava. He has also worked with the likes of Gunther Schuller, Jimmy Giuffre, Wayne Horvitz, Cuong Vu, Robert Dick, Reuben Radding, Amy Denio, John Edwards, Caroline Krabel, Matt Moran and many others.

Denali Williams - drums
Denali comes to Goat with a varied history, from playing as a rock n’ roll drummer to performing in the concert hall as an orchestral percussionist, he brings an expansive palette and sharp sense of drive to the band. You can find him exploring a wide variety of musical forms in bands like The Staxx Brothers, Loop 2.4.3, and the Tacoma Symphony, among many others.
