Gobsmacked

I'm basicly a part time songwriter, I don't perform my songs myself as getting the song to sound as best as it can is more important than my ego, so I use the best session musicians & producers I can get.

Why not just sell my songs to others? I hear you say, well because I enjoy being part of their evolution as they are recorded and the truth be told I'm quite attached to them.

Having said that I would be estatic if someone heard my songs and liked it enough to do a version with their own twist, but I just want the first reccorded version to be how I like it. I have just had one song professionally recorded ( People of New Orleans) using session musicans.

Music is a passion for me but I also like the "normal life" and have no desire for fame, it's just fun to do, & the idea of other people hearing and hopefully liking my music just blows my mind.

I have lots of songs I want to record but I need the money to do it, so ideally I hope I can make my music self funding ie earn enough from each song to record the next (either through competions or royalties).

I also like that working this way gives others (session musicians, undiscovered talent etc) the opportunity to be recorded professionally and shine themselves....not very rock'n'roll I know but for me its all about enjoying the process as much as the end result.
