"God Damn, Lock Up Stage, Saturday, Leeds"

God Damn do a strange line in this whole ‘banter’ thing: “We played for all the softie Southerners yesterday, who probably got dropped off by mummy in the Range Rover,” sneers frontman Thom Edwards. "Sorry, some of you might have Range Rovers too - let's not be judgemental". Later, he also snaps at an audience member during their set-up for reminding them how many minutes late they were running. What they very much do have the hang of, however, is the sort of splenetic, sledgehammer-heavy riff-rock that you’d expect two hairy blokes from the Black Country to make. “Go and tell your friends that we weren’t too shit,” the suddenly-contrite Edwards asks at the end. We’re more than happy to oblige.

“God damn,” whispers one poor soul, uttering his last words before being crushed into dust by the barbaric duo, God Damn. Unhinged and heinously heavy, the two-piece make a tremendous racket, one that even the Dillinger Escape Plan would listen to and quiver. Like Black Sabbath piggybacking on The Jesus Lizard or Nirvana belly-bouncing Electric Wizard, God Damn rumble our ribcages and make us regret eating before we entered the Lock Up Stage. - Stereoboard

"God Damn and Honeyblood join Grohl’s guests Iggy Pop, Royal Blood, Ash and more for May and June shows"

Foo Fighters have added God Damn and Honeyblood to their list of support acts for the UK tour that kicks off later this month.

They join previously-announced guests Iggy Pop, Royal Blood, Ash, Kaiser Chiefs, Teenage Fanclub and Hozier, with various lineups appearing across the run of six stadium shows.

Dave Grohl and co start their run with an appearance at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Norwich, and end it with a set at this year’s Glastonbury festival.

It’s part of a wider Foos European tour in support of eighth album Sonic Highways, which was accompanied by an eight-part documentary series of the same name.

Grohl was ambassador for last month’s Record Store Day, and led the charge with an intimate Foos show for 150 fans in an Ohio store. The band this week released a video of the event.

UK AND IRELAND DATES

May 25: Sunderland Stadium Of Light – with Kaiser Chiefs

""They deserve to be massive""

There was a time when two-piece bands were a quirky novelty, but these days they're everywhere, generating a vast amount of noise with the minimum amount of personnel. And when it comes to stripped down, four-legged ferocity, no one does it better right now than the mighty God Damn. With a sound that filters huge, bloody chunks of Sabbath, Stooges, Sonic Youth and Slade through a dense prism of purest snot, these Midlands marauders have the riffs, the tunes and a near-chewable sense of demented spontaneity. They deserve to be massive. - Classic Rock Magazine

""Dark and brooding yet still reading high in the energy stakes, God Damn are set to burn our musical climate to bits as they prepare for the release of their debut album in April of 2015""

A musical force hailing from the heart of the Black Country, God Damn are a red-hot burning molten pot of pop hooks and grinding, bludgeoning riffs and rhythms. Having helped keep UK rock alive and vital since their inception in 2010, sharing stages with the likes of Eagulls, Pulled Apart By Horses, Icarus Line and The Wytches and recently signed to One Little Indian Records, God Damn are proud to announce the release of a new video for single ‘Horus’, due for release this coming October 27th.

A flurry of distorted guitar signals the start of ‘Horus’, before the band come charging in, creating a thick wall of disconcerting rock noise that aims to creep you out as much as it does thrill you. With a lyrical theme that references the Egyptian Sun god Horus (who has the body of a man, a birds head, with one eye the sun and the other the moon!), ‘Horus’ explores utopian ideas with a brooding, dark musical background that is set to pulverise when the band start touring across the UK this winter.

Dark and brooding yet still reading high in the energy stakes, God Damn are set to burn our musical climate to bits as they prepare for the release of their debut album in April of 2015 and take to the road for the remainder of the year, hooking up for tours with Kagoule and Turbowolf alongside appearances at Bestival and the Reeperbahn club festival.

"Song of the Day - God Damn 'Horus'"

“Horus”’s commanding energy practically pounds its way past your eardrums and into your consciousness; the combination of potent percussion, a melodic chorus hook, and screeching refrains ensuring this isn’t a sound that’ll be leaving your mind in a hurry. - The Line Of Best Fit

""God Damn are ace tonight" Live Review"

GOD DAMN are ace tonight. Another duo making music that we’d probably scoff at if the stage contained twice the personal that it currently does. It’s a nice noise these two make. Nicer than Royal Blood and nicer than Drenge. Just two artists they will forever now be compared with. We wait with baited breath for more of their tunes to be played in our homes once their album comes out before the end of the year. - See more at: http://louderthanwar.com/arrows-of-love-god-damn-art-trip-and-the-static-sound-skinny-girl-diet-camden-barfly-live-review/#sthash.tbLYsjXn.dpuf - Louder Than War

"“This is God Damn, and they are live act that demand your attention on their mission to destroy your eardrums and give you a lesson in what a live music is all about.”"

At the end of Stoke Newington High Street, a storm is brewing. Within the close knit cavern of the Total Refreshment Centre, a monster of sound has been unleashed upon the world. In the centre of the room are two men. One roars and ploughs at his guitar strings to create a crashing whirlpool of sound. The other smashes the living daylights out of his drum kit with such extreme power, it is a surprise the skins even manage to survive each song, let alone the whole gig. This is God Damn, and they are live act that demand your attention on their mission to destroy your eardrums and give you a lesson in what a live music is all about.

The slightly strange venue makes for an interesting and wholly intimate atmosphere, where upon the band are at ground level with the crowd. There is no stage, and the crowd cluster around the amps that encircle the band. It’s a rip-roaring set that rattles the brain and cuts right through every inch of your body. As Ash Weaver continues to beat and smash the drums, his drumsticks splinter and break continually throughout, a testament to his seemingly boundless amount of energy and drive, meanwhile Thom Edward eyes the crowd through his long hair and ramshackle of a roar.

Working its way through the fantastically brutal ‘Heavy Money’ and the blasting sensation of latest single ‘Horus’, the set focuses its attention on tracks from the upcoming album of the same name released later this year. It culminates in a frenzy of overdrive, gain and reverb driven up to the highest volume, seemingly in a desperate attempt to both deafen everyone and piss off the sound man. As the sound reverberates in on itself, Weaver continues to bash out a cacophony of drumbeats, and as it reaches its spectacular climax, all sound shuts off in one sudden synchronised jolt of a heartbeat. Ears ringing, heart beating, there is a concurrent feeling that this will not be the last God Damn gig everyone will be attending. - The Music Shepherd

Bio

God Damn - Thom Edward (guitars/vocals) and Ash Weaver (drums) – are pure attack: molten pop hooks galvanized in a blaze of bludgeoning riffs and furiously propulsive percussion.

Hailing from the heart of the Black Country, God Damn fuse ‘Bleach’ era Nirvana, Jesus Lizard, ‘Surfer Rosa’ era Pixies and At The Drive In influences whilst swearing allegiance to the ‘Seven J’s’ of their Holy Bible: Hendrix, Homme, Cash, White, Page, Bonham and Jesse ‘The Devil’ Hughes (Eagles of Death Metal).

God Damn signed to UK Indie label - One Little Indian in early 2014 and released their debut album 'Vultures' in May 2015 to strong press reviews and radio support.

The band are building a reputation for their powerful live shows and have played 80+ shows in the UK during 2015 touring with the likes of Pulled Apart By Horses, The Wytches, Kagoule, Slaves, Marmozets as well as two headline tours.

2015 Festival appearances included Eurosonic, Liverpool Sound City, Download, Hevy Fest, Boardmasters and recently Reading & Leeds. The band's reputation is building across Europe following 30+ shows and festivals in Italy, Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, Sweden, Belgium and Switzerland.

The highlight of the year (aside from releasing the debut album), was being asked to support the Foo Fighters at Manchester Old Trafford Cricket Ground in May!

Radio One have got behind the band with plays from Zane Lowe and an interview and Maida Vale session with Huw Stephens.

2015 will end with the release of a brand new track 'Dead To Me' (November release) and the band have already started work on demos for the follow up to Vultures.
