Bio

Born Nicole Trudy Wright in Victoria Jubilee hospital in Kingston Jamaica, Goddess moved to America at the tender age of three where she resided in Los Angeles California for six years. At the age of nine, her family then relocated to Brooklyn, New York.

From the time she can remember, Goddess has always had music in her heart. As her immediate family recalls, she’s always dancing to any type of beat from the time she was a toddler. As soon as she was old enough to have understanding of what she was hearing, she found herself in love with music. At around the age of five, she would recite the words to everyone she heard whether she liked the song or didn’t. By the age of nine, Goddess’ interest grew from being a listener to writing her own lyrics to music. She began her writing as poetry and has grown to blending her poetry and music into songs.

Growing up with her mother, Goddess was listening to mostly music from before her time of different genres and artists. Some of her early influences include the legend Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Marcia Griffiths, Beres Hammond, Sanchez, Beenie Man, Michael Jackson, Witney Houston, Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin, Toni Braxton, Betty Wright just to name a few. With this wide assortment of influences, styles of music, she developed a true appreciation for old school and soulful music.

Goddess attended Transit Technical High School in Brooklyn where she graduated in 2008. She now attends the Borough of Manhattan Community College majoring in Early Childhood Education. Although her music takes priority in her life, she firmly understands the importance of education and wish to one day be the one that opens doors to educate the generations to follow. Her overall goal in life is to be successful in her endeavors and happy while providing a life of happiness and comfort for her mother and family back in Jamaica who aren’t as fortunate. She also wishes to get involved in nonprofit work to enlighten and give hope to children in the West Indies and West Indian communities.

As an artist, Goddess’ work transcends different genres and talents. She writes her own lyrics, sings and deejay (rapping in Jamaican Patois). She’s written, recorded and performed songs in Reggae, Rhythm and Blues, Hip Hop and Pop with her Jamaican flare in each of the genres she touches.
