Bio
In 2000 Constant and Butler joined with Austin veteran, Greg Rose on drums, and god drives a galaxy was born. Shortly after, they reunited with former producer Jim Wilson, who was coming off a world tour as bass player for Bob Mould. Wilson's addition as bassist aligned the group's sonic magic. In the post alternative-gone-mainstream lull, members were inspired with an edgy, ambient sound. They recorded and released a self-titled limited edition 6 song EP, God Drives a Galaxy, which features an eclectic mix of melodic psychedelic rock songs.
June 12, 2001, god drives a galaxy released their first full length CD on India Records. On It's Late but I Feel Early Constant and company meld crunchy guitars, offbeat melodies, strange vocal ambiences and random noise to create pop-inspired wildness. Described by one fan, “Its like Bowie meets the Toadies - It's dangerous". The band received an Austin Chronicle Top Best of 2001 pick, a 2002 SXSW Picks and Sleepers selection, and 2 Top Ten listings from the Glitterhouse staff (UK).
god drives a galaxy released their 3rd CD, "Pale Blue Dot" on August 14th of 2003 on the StrangeLove label. This hypnotic journey into space rock is the bands' most pop oriented psychedelic movement yet, inducing comparison's to Dark Side of the Moon, Electric Warrior (T-Rex), and the Flaming Lips latest endeavors.
