“Godfrey has the ability to combine thought-provoking lyrics with melodic, simple, but catchy melodies with pleasant vocal."(CMW 2004)

This Toronto-born artist began performing on piano at the age of six, later leading to a passion for guitar, drums, bass, trombone, and violin. Godfrey would perform with GLIB for seven years performing all over Ontario, recording two demos, and one full-length album. Godfrey’s title track “Halfway” gained recognition through his performance at the Canadian Music Week Festival 2004, and the inclusion of the track on the festival’s compilation disc.

In 2003, Godfrey formed a new band called THIS, which he played with for six years. Through THIS, Godfrey gained more touring experience, namely during the 2008 Canadian Summer Tour with Sons of Butcher, consisting of 11 shows in 14 days. His six years with THIS were filled with continuous performances, recording two demos, an LP, a full-length album, and a deeper understanding of what life-on-the-road truly means.

Currently, Godfrey is performing around Toronto and in Ontario festivals. “Cut off the World" will be Godfrey’s most focused and mature album to date.

What we do or do not do in life shape the future.

Godfrey’s “Cut off the World” will include a re-recorded version of the track “Dreaming,” which was named One of the top five songs in the Universe (Songwriter Universe Contest) in 2009.
