Bio

Godfrey touches the hearts of his listeners via his voice and the accordion that are married with sounds from traditional instruments of Uganda.

His music is characteristically Ugandan at its roots, but its leaves and branches constantly grow and expand into new territories featuring a cultural dialogue between styles of Uganda with the diverse styles spanning the globe.

The result is a culturally rich, sophisticated and soulful world fusion that captures the interest of a diverse audience. The music targets both a Ugandan and international audience with a music that both can relate to and appreciate.
The goal is to reinstate a lost cultural identity to Ugandan music and share it with the rest of the world by treating this music with a sense of taste and respect not seen in recent years.

He has had music clinics and joint performances with international musicians and music groups during their music tours in Uganda, these include,
Cecile Verny quartet, The Deishovida band, Kathyln Tickel’s band, The Fernhill band and from Europe, Kenny Neil’s blues band and Either Orchestra from USA.
He has collaborated with the Deishovida band under a cultural music exchange program between Uganda and Austria, which was initiated and supported by the Moving cultures of Austria (Vidc). With this band, Godfrey had very successful music performances in Austria, Germany and Uganda (2000-2005).

Godfrey is a founder member of the Ugandan pioneer jazz bands like, The Big five band, Misty jazz band, jazz refugees, Kampala Jazz all stars, and now bandleader of Baxmba Waves.
With Kampala Jazz all stars, Godfrey toured western Uganda and had five great performances at the Uganda national cultural centre, and performed to the internally displaced people in eastern Uganda under the auspices of the Ugandan US embassy (2003-2004).
