God of War

God of War began as a two-piece from Downey, California as a metal project started by Alec and Matt back in 2004. In need of a guitarist they put an ad up at a local music shop named ‘Dark Realm Records’ and within the time of a day they got a call from Richard. He was everything the two were looking for, The original idea was to enlist the help of two guitarist but after having listened to the skill which Richard possessed in his arsenal, there was no longer need for two (unless he had a clone). This 3-piece is the songwriting foundation of the band that has developed a style of extreme metal that ventures into very chaotic to almost even insane tempos and technically. This band belongs to the Extreme Elite, not one of your Radio-Friendly Trivium or Lamb of God type of “extreme” bands, more like the Hate Eternals, Krisiuns, and Cryptopsy’s of the world. Real Extreme Metal.

As time progressed, the three had refined and perfected their sound; the need finally came to find a vocalist. After a long search of metal core, old school and sometimes high-pitched metal vocalist, the band finally came across Mike from Rosemead, California. formerly of Advent, to take the vocal duties. They liked the versatility of Mike’s vocal range for their particular aggressive sound. Everything from deep growls to the "Shuldiner" like high-pitched rasp he employs flowed very well with the constant time changing arrangements that the bands style demanded.

Thus the quartet was set, with an eight song catalog. Consisting of tracks varying from thousand mile an hour whirlwinds of mayhem, to technical odes to ancient Greek heroes, right down to mid tempo melodic styled psalms of how the angel saint chose his throne.

This band now ready to play, set its sight on performing everywhere and anywhere with the intention of resurrecting and rejuvenating the Death/Black Metal populous the world over.
