Derrick Davenport was born April 19, 1975 in Oakland,Ca. At an early age, Derrick discovered his extraordinary musical
dexterity and lyrical finesse,which inevitably initiated in the birthing of his career as a rap artist. Derrick has performed in
proximity with a number of the most high profile and notable sought after secular artist in the music industry. Captivating audiences through
his eloquent and unique way of depicting the struggle of life in the streets of the urban community. He has performed with artist such
as Too Short,Daz of the Dogg Pound. Rapping 4-Tay, The Blood Brotha`s and Son`s of Funk of No Limit Records. Performing in numerous
venues and amongst various artists Derrick has remarkably astounded audiences with his urban peculiarity.

Presently, Derrick is known throughout the industry as " Gods Child " ( a.k.a G.C). GC`s objective is to win souls for Christ thru
his ministry of gospel rap. As a gospel artist Gods Child has ministered along with countless performers such as the Christian Brotha's,
Christ for Life, Agerman, J-Red, S.I.S.T.E.M., Derrick Hughes, Alfreda Lyons and Lawrence Matthew's. GC has delivered the gospel at the
Collard Greens Festival, The Annual Sylvester Heritage Awards, Kari Jama,Annual Juneteenth Festival, Bay Area Youth Explosion and many other venues.
Featured in an article in Gospel Flava Magazine, he was referred to as a phenomenal up and coming Gospel Rap Artist.

GC strives to convey the imperative need for God's love in his music as he skillfully intertwines the realities of societies deception
and afflictions with a gospel essence. In addition to the performance experience noted above, GC has been a guest artist at numerous
gospel events throughout the Bay Area region in which audiences have been repeatedly captivated by the realism and powerful vocalization
of the " God's Child" style.
