"God's Example"

Every once in awhile, a friend sends me a disc and asks me to "review" or "critique" the material. I just want to say, for the record, "that's usually very difficult"! That is, it's difficult about 90% of the time. Sometimes there is joy unspeakable and full of glory in the music that arrives in my mailbox.

On this particular occasion the friend was bad-boy bassist, and gifted Luthier, Mark Vinciguerra and the tunes were a pre-release from Florida-based Gospel greats GOD's EXAMPLES, called "Break Through"! All I can say is "This is a new classic" in the truest form! God's Examples brings a deeper R&B vibe to the genre – while maintaining the staples of what we called "Black Gospel" – the richness of the tradition isn't shaken here. Throughout, the group – led by 4 biological brothers and thier dad– brings everything good about black music in general, and African-American worship in particular. There's even a quote from the Burt Bacharach tune, "What The World Needs Now (Is Love)"! One can't help but feel they know the experiences articulated on each of the tunes I received. These are songs of praise, trust, and pain… But never fear! I only wish God's Examples would cover the Richard Page joint, "Even The Pain"! That is the depth of this faith, isn't it?

Now, let's talk about the powerful lead vocals… Each tune "brings it home" through sheer talented presentation, and REAL experience. This isn't some music industry manufactured, glossy, and utterly unnecessary release. These men are talking about Jesus from their hearts, and often, through tears of how hard this world can be on all human beings. I want you all to hear this disc! WOO! For you bassists out there… Mark Vinciguerra is, just, dang… God's Examples should be ubiquitous to the hearing of this genre.

"Who is God's Example"

The state of Florida unleashes one of the world's finest Urban Contemporary gems. God's Example. What makes this group diffrent is the unique and original sound. Keep your eyes open for these guys.

(I-Newswire) - There is something to be said about a name. In Biblical times the name identified the character. This group of brothers have decided to uphold the name of Jesus. "Music is a small part of this ministry," says group front man Derrick Blue. " We know that anybody can sing, some cats live ragedy lives and can sing you out of your seat." But at the end of the day you've got to live the life. "It's not that we have reached the mark, but we are pursuing spiritual excellence." As you can see these brothers are about the kingdom. Their freshman album is set to be released in August of 08' and has already gained national airplay. This is an original sound and a uncompromising message. Breakthrough!

"God's Example explodes on the scene with"

PRLog (Press Release) – Jul 24, 2008 – What do you get when you mix Contemporary Worship and hand Clapping traditional gospel music with Southern style Gospel R&B? What you get is God's Example.

The name birthed out of a desire to do the will of God and follow his example. God's Example’s style is said to be a marriage of traditional and contemporary gospel: from soft ballads of worship to soulful hand clapping rhythms to good ole quartet style music.

Although this group of 4 brothers has often been compared with gospel legends, The Winans, Commissioned and Men of Standard, it is evident that their style is original. The songs they sing typify the very essence of what we call Urban Gospel Music, without compromising the meaning and conviction of the message.

The unmistakable vocal harmony, accompanied by skilled instrumentation, will not be forgotten. Gifted bassist Mark Vinciguerra unleashes an arsenol of always stylish bass lines on this album, while Taurean Wilson keeps the auxiliary section tight. Also featured on this album is Emanuiel Roberts Sr. who will be releasing his album in 2009.

Breakthrough has already been coined a "Gospel Classic" by critics and promises to be the first of many hot albums by God's Example. - Unknown

Bio

God’s Example is an Urban Gospel group led by four biological brothers. Although the brothers have been singing together since childhood, the group formed in 1999 after they accepted the Lord in their lives during a revival. They began their ministry singing on the streets, in nursing homes, and in prisons. Since their formation, they have added gifted bassist and luthier Mark Vinciguerra and keyboardist Taurean Wilson. They have been elevated to a larger platform and have ministered to masses, sharing the stage with a wide variety of artists from gospel greats such as Shirley Caesar, Mom and Pop Winans, and the Williams Brothers, to new age urban gospel artists such as Tye Tribett, Bobby Jones and the Nashville Super Choir, Beverly Crawford, Jimmy Hicks and VOI and a host of other national artists.
During their 9 year tenure, they sold hundreds of their recordings regionally and have now completed their first professionally recorded album entitled, “Break Through.” This project has already gained radio play through a nationally syndicated radio broadcast (Moody Broadcasting), satellite radio, and several regional radio stations in Florida and Southeast Georgia. Critics have termed the project a “new gospel classic.” This album brings a deeper R&B vibe to the genre while maintaining the staples of what we call “Black Gospel.” God’s Example has been closely compared to groups like The Winans, Men of Standard, and Commissioned, but their style is definitely their own and once heard, it won’t be forgotten.
