God's Message (GM)

On April 14, 1976 in a small town called Laurinburg, NC, born the child of a crack cocaine addict of birth, GM was abandoned by his birth mother and then later adopted by his Grandmother (his father's mother). The family was poor and his grandmother was faced with the task of raising a young man 40+ years younger in an ever changing society on less than $800 a month. Never receiving any form of financial assistance, times were hard but his Grandmother handled this tough task as best she could being unemployed with a small monthly income.

At an early age, GM attended Mt. Pisgah Holiness Church in Wagram, NC with Hampton Ross as the pastor. It was in this building the seed of God was planted into the soul of GM. By 2nd grade, GM's main ambition was to preach. Unfortunately, by the age of 16, the absence of a father while growing up in the "hood" in poverty had began to take a toll on GM's life and he began to steer in the wrong direction. At the age of 17, GM began an unwanted friendship with the NC judicial system which would last him 7 years. After having a son and turning 24, GM had matured enough and realized that he was finished dealing with the judicial system and vowed to walk righteously for his family before his activities landed him in prison. One short year later, GM was back in the church, asking for forgiveness and seeking God’s word.

One day while listening to Paula White, GM was inspired by the word and received a message from God, hence naming himself the name "God's Message". From a first person perspective, GM's main motivations are prioritized as follows: 1) His Love for Christ and all he has done, 2) Being the voice of the unheard against injustices and 3) Promoting education and being a positive influence for the youth. GM has always viewed himself as a fighter for the underdog. Through his music, GM wishes to reach anyone who has experienced the ups and downs of life and hopes to instill faith and comfort by sharing his own personal struggles in relation to what others have experienced.
