Peter Goetz
It’s not often my mate James comes up with much in the way of new musical know how. The best recommendation I’ve had out of the man who, until only recently discovered Angus & Julia Stone, was BranVan 3000's Drinking in LA. An awesome track but not entirely cutting edge. Luckily what he lacks in music knowledge he makes up for in moves on the dancefloor, frequently busting out the one legged moon walk and robotic arms whenever the moment calls for.
Not that there’s much need for one legged moonwalks whilst listening to the chilled out beach vibes of Peter Goetz. Sounding like the illegitimate love child of Manu Chao and Jack Johnson his is a sound that belongs to camp fires, surfing trips and sunset beers.
It’s chilled out roots music at it’s finest. Brazilian influences come not just from the linguistic flare of Goetz but the nifty guitar work of Arthur Maia and Sergio Chiavazzoli, both 15 year veterans of Gilberto Gil’s band. (Not to mention Brazil’s current minister of culture). For a debut album Indian Summer is backed up by pretty sturdy band mates and influencers.
You can sample some of the work for free via his bandcamp page but I urge you to spend a few bucks and enjoy the album in it’s entirety. Specially now the US Dollar is so low! It’s good music for any multitude of occasions, ‘sept maybe the one legged moonwalk?

Indian Summer Full Length (forthcoming)
Goetz had the honor of collaborating with some of the most talented musicians across the globe while recording his first full-length album, "Indian Summer". Sessions in both Brazil and California have yielded a cross-cultural fusion of California soul, reggae and world beats. The album was spearheaded by Goetz and Solanki who teamed up with an all-star cast of players: Jason Yates (Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, Citizen Cope), Dave Ralicke (Jack Johnson, Beck), Grecco Burratto (Sergio Mendes, Shakira) to name a few. While in Brazil, Goetz recorded two tracks with Arthur Maia and Sergio Chiavazzoli, both 15 year veterans of Gilberto Gil's band, Brazil's current minister of culture. Enjoy what they've pieced together. If you feel inclined name your price. If you're strapped for cash, sit back and soak in the music!
