Going Nowhere

BandRock

When rock meets pop meets punk, Going Nowhere is where you'll be.

Biography

Going Nowhere was formed in early 2004 by lead singer and keyboardist, Naomi Giges and guitarist, Mayumi Sato. With drummer, Matt Donovan and bassist, Jason Lee, Going Nowhere has been playing since last summer around New York City and the surrounding areas. The band has been described as “the best of 80’s punk girl rock with a modern rock twist.” Giges, a seasoned musician and performer in New York City, rocks the stage with vocals compared to both Gwen Stefani and Deborah Harry.

Lyrics

Don't Want to Say Farewell

Written By: Naomi Giges

Sometimes in life there’s unexpected turns
You face the day and wonder what you’ve done
If you had another way, would you do it again
Do you have it all or did you miss it all

I don’t know where I am going
I don’t know if I will stay

(CHORUS)
I don’t want to say farewell, I don’t want to say farewell
You take you leave, you come, you go, that’s all
I don’t want to say farewell, I don’t want to say farewell
Faster, faster, further, further, I go

Regrets in life is something that I fear
I find myself wondering if you’re really near
I must believe my life is what it should be
And standing strong, the future is so free

I don’t know where I am going
I don’t know if I will stay

CHORUS

CHORUS

I go, I go, I go

Sunday Morning

Written By: Naomi Giges

Sunday morning in the city
It’s not that pretty when I’m feeling this way
Creep behind me, shake my body
With angry arms, just begging me to stay

I can’t stop thinking that there’s somewhere else that I would rather be
Each day blurs into the next, I can’t believe how much I have wasted
I would give it all for just another moment with you
I would sacrifice, eliminate, whatever I need to do

(CHORUS)
Numb the buzz in my brain with no more truths
All dressed up with nowhere to go, this is misconstrued
No matter what’s been said before, no matter what’s been done before
I just want to breathe you

Don’t get in my way, for I will survive
I will not let you bring me down to your place
Hold my breath in, keeps me calm now
As I watch you go on your way

It’s not that I don’t care about you, I just care more about me
Not a minute to lose, a cat in the grass, lick my wounds beneath me
My prophecy, utility, fully surrounds me
My castaways, a tragedy, so I left you sweetly

CHORUS

Going Nowhere

Written By: Naomi Giges

I know that we have issues with each other, and I know it
I think that we can work them out, let’s just talk about it
We have come from the same place but going in a different direction
We need to leave our problems at the door, let’s laugh about it

(CHORUS)
Are you lonely now, are you happy now, have you found a way to say goodbye
Can you lay your head, can you rest your eyes, have you found something to help you
Take another drink, have another pill, time to fall away for another night
Do you really think that you’re okay, can I find a way to save you

You call to say that you’re feeling a little under the weather
You say that you’re gonna get the covers and watch a movie
But when I call your phone you answer at some bar in the village
Another night wasted, drinking and snorting, smoking and screwing

CHORUS

Solitary, sedatively is this what’s going to make you happy
Being broken, going nowhere will only take you to the ending

CHORUS
