Composed of veterans of the Chicago Indie Scene, Gold Cult makes noise, ambient, and post rock type music. Being highly influenced by groups such as Broadcast, Stereolab, Tortoise, and Grizzly Bear, they bring together all the interesting parts of these bands.

Biography

Gold Cult was born in the summer of 2012, but the band didn't become whole until November when the lineup was finalized. Comprised of four members of the Chicago music scene, Blaine Welsh, Mikey Moran, Joe Bailey, and Dylan Andrews, Gold Cult is a project that is mixing the best parts of Psych Pop, Post- Rock, and Krautrock. The bands members have been apart of the Chicago music scene for years with Joe and Dylan being original members of Young Man who is now signed to Frenchkiss. The band released its debut e.p. Been Still in January 2013. Since the band has opened for TEEN, Sean Nicholas Savage, Doldrums, and is going to open for Pure Bathing Culture in June. The band is also recording their first Daytrotter session in may. With a second e.p. slated to be released in late summer 2013
