Gold Furs is the solo project of singer/songwriter/guitarist Becca Murray aka Mimi Gold. Since writing songs and playing in bands over the last decade, she is now doing it alone, choosing to perform her rock n roll rootsy stripped back sounds in all their rawness.
Influenced by the sounds of artists such as The Velvet Underground, Bo Diddley, The Cramps, Johnny Cash. Nico, Johnny Thunders, Hasil Adkins, Gold Furs is anything but conventional, rather an instant hit of intense swagger, attitude and conviction, still retaining a dream-like vulnerable edge.
Armed with only a guitar and a voice, the songs have to do all the talking, and they would talk all night if they could.
Gold Furs is based in Scotland and plans to release a debut album in 2010.
