"Premium Blend with Goodbyehome"

Greg Combs, Christine Knodle, and Jeff Brown come together to form Goodbyehome, a folk/Americana band that can be compared to alternative country star Ryan Adams and folk singer Joshua James. - Columbia Chronicle

Breathless, excitingly embryonic on stage, and a rare folky wistfulness that makes your heart soar and drop simultaneously. Goodbyehome make the music that would accompany sad, fond memories of a road trip where, after driving for hours in the wilderness, you met a beautiful girl at a bar in the middle of nowhere, and spent your whole night with her, knowing you'd never see her again. - ANewBandaDay.com

Bio

In 2008, friends and musical collaborators Greg Combs, Jeff Brown, and Christine Knodle pulled together a rotating lineup of cohorts from the Chicago Indie Rock and Coffeehouse scene to form Goodbyehome, a Soaring and epic tribute to the history and future of music.

Breathless, excitingly embryonic on stage, with a rare folky wistfulness that makes your heart soar and drop simultaneously,Goodbyehome make the music that would accompany sad, fond memories of a road trip where, after driving for hours in the wilderness, you met a beautiful girl at a bar in the middle of nowhere, and spent your whole night with her, knowing you'd never see her again.

With the release of a self titled debut from Goodbyehome in early 2009, The band presents a record that at times boasts Combs' songwriting and lyrical confidence, and at other times, the melodic musical anecdotes from Brown answered by swirling cinematic strings, which at times can be hypnotizing and at other times dramatic, drunken, and sobering, with a new found lyrical weight and sound, overflowing with three and four part vocal harmonic richness.

Combs and Brown are joined by Sarah Wong on violin, Paul Key on bass guitar, and Jim Lordeman on drums. Together as Goodbyehome, they have opened for the likes of Bela Fleck & the Flecktones, Dr. Dog, Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, and Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes.
