"Exposure: Goodbye Lenin"

"This Edinburgh based quartet are relative newcomers on the Scottish indie rock scene... They all take a share in the song writing and make a sound that is tight, fresh and energetic."

"REFUGEE ORCHESTRA by GOODBYE LENIN"

"It helps that the music is top notch, especially this tune [Refugee Orchestra] ]in our humble opinions, which has a totally jangly and upbeat groove of its own..."

"Review of Gig at Henry's Cellar (Oct 17th 2008)"

"...[T]hese guys are professional, tight, captivating, laden with great influences from Smashing Pumpkins, Joy Division, Beatles, Pixies, etc. And should definitely be heard by anyone remotely interested in the kind of talent that is currently on the amateur scene in this country...

You will be forgiven for thinking that they have done the typical formula for successful rock band, get a lead singer the girls will love, a female drummer for the guys to ogle and a solid bass player and a likeable guitarist that's as happy as he is talented. But once you hear them play or better yet speak to them they come across as being real about the music they are playing."

Bio

Named after a pretty good film none of the band has ever seen, GOODBYE LENIN are half Scottish and a quarter English and Canadian. They utilize big guitar riffs, fuzzy bass, boy/girl harmonies and a smattering of feedback to achieve their unique live sound, which is both musically-interesting and radio-friendly. Musically taking their cues from bands such as the Pixies, Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead and Arcade Fire, lyrically they focus on the sublime and cataclysmic: love, death, socialism, financial meltdown, atomic warfare and eco-catastrophe. The revolution starts here...
