Bio

Believe it or not, the story of one of Canada’s most exciting new alternative acts, Goodbye Parker, begins not with rock, but with bluegrass!

Goodbye Parker's current line-up was formed in the bluegrass comedy act, "The R & BG Boyzz." After several different groups with varying personnel, including a swing-jazz combo, the four guys all jammed together, and decided to meld their various influences into a new band.

Playing hard-hitting originals, with the occasional humorous cover thrown in to warm up the crowd, Goodbye Parker have been wowing audiences throughout Toronto, playing shows at popular venues such as the Reverb, the Drake Hotel, the El Mocambo, the Silver Dollar Room, the Cameron House, the Comfort Zone, the Horseshoe Tavern, and Massey College. They’ve had numerous plays on Toronto’s CIUT FM, as well as the internet podcasting community. This public exposure has elicited very warm responses from three continents.

More than anything else, Goodbye Parker emphasize an aspect much neglected in today's independent music scene: fun. As far as the guys are concerned, people go to see a rock show to have a great time, something they never forget during their performances. Goodbye Parker are a rock band; make no mistake, but their diverse influences have led to an awareness of many styles of music. While all of these genres are not necessarily incorporated at once, the band’s musical education and background give them a unique perspective throughout the songwriting process.

The guys are currently in the process of writing and demoing new material for an upcoming record. Look out for a Summer 2007 record, and tour dates to follow.
