Bio

Goodbye To Sunny Skies was started by Mikey Sawyer as a solo project in August of 2009 after playing out local shows with acts such as Owl City, Attack Attack!, Framing Hanley, Broadway, The Scene Aesthetic and many others he formed the rest of the band with Guitarist and long time classmates Michael Arwood and Luke Lau. They began writing acoustic songs and getting recognized by local radio stations and promotors allover Oklahoma, they then found drummer Josh Bickle and Bassist Wilson Philips and recorded their single's 'Jesus See's You When Your Sassy' and 'All Stars Fall' with Arlis Moon and started playing HUGE local shows, selling merchandise and their CD's at shows. Over 800 copies went out withing the first month of the release and with over 10,000 fans on MySpace within the first year, they set off to booking independent tours running 8-9 days long. What sets this band apart from the rest is their ability to get such a huge response from the crowd and hustle tickets and shirt sales. All their songs are written acoustically and converted to the PopCore energetic live show you see in person! Its so cool to see these guys in action and to know that they're doing what they love for God and their fans is nothing short of amazing and everyone would love to see them go far. GTSS is influenced by bands such as A Day To Remeber, Emarosa, I See Stars, The Devil Wears Prada, Attack Attack! and others. The lyrics and songwritings are that of a sad and dark past the band has reflected back on in the writing of their EP All Stars Fall. Recently the band has described that they wish to pursue and promote causes with their new music such as Teen Suicide Prevention and the fight against Drunk Driving, and well as Domestic Violence, and Child Abuse. They pride themselves on the ability to interact with real people about real issues that have touched and affected the band themselves. They will be playing CornerStone Festival 2010 on the Anchor Stage with My Children, My Bride and Hail The Blessed Hour.
