Biography

Powerful melodies, dynamic vocals, and heartfelt lyrics defines the rich sound that makes Good Luck Jane . Backed by a variety of orchestral support beyond the guitars and drums, the group incorporates strings, and some electronic production to give them a unique style. Good Luck Jane began to take shape as early as 2007 when Andrew (Lead Guitarist/Keyboardist) and Jake (Drums) began forming their own high school bands. Upon entering college, they were the only two to end up at the same university, where they would waste no time building a new band.

Within the first few months of college, Jake and Andrew met Dan and invited him to join the project, also adding Joey on lead vocals after Jake saw a video showing his exceptional vocal talent. The guys met Danny as he was a bassist for another band. They quickly enjoyed his energy and skill level and wanted to bring him in. The band was complete.

They have released two EP's since 2009. Their first EP "Word of The Week" resembles their pop/rock era, largely driven by influences like Fall Out Boy, The Rocket Summer, and Every Avenue. Their most current EP "Crossing Borders" resembles their sonic change to a more contemporary Alternative/Rock. On this album, orchestral sounds and energizing instrumental breaks highlight a different process for the band while making music. The group released their current single "Sugar Rush" in July 2011, which marks a checkpoint in the transformation out of Pop/Punk. "Sugar Rush" will become another stepping stone as they venture into the studio once again to release another EP late 2011.

Good Luck Jane has performed live on Good Morning America (ABC), Chicago's Morning News (WGN). They have also been featured in The Daily Herald, and many college newspapers. They have placed two tracks in a national TV commercial campaign for The University of Illinois that airs regularly on The Big Ten Network. They have appeared on radio stations such as Kiss 103.5FM, Fearless Radio, KRUI FM Iowa City, and other podcasts. They earned a spot at the 2011 Van's Warped Tour in Tinley Park, IL.

Good Luck Jane has shared the stage with artists such as All Time Low, Yellowcard, Boyce Avenue, Mike Posner, Hey Monday, The Summer Set, 2AM Club, Lucky Boys Confusion, South Jordan, Dot Dot Dot, Mark Rose of Spitalfield, This Love, and many more.

Lyrics

Like I Do

Written By: Good Luck Jane

I’m sick of waiting for you to come back here
Though medicine's a quick fix I know you'd cure
Not gonna lie, im trying my heart out to find out
If I still need you now
And I still need you now

If only you would look at you like I do
If he loved you like I want to

Since all this talk is going nowhere
I've got to
So I crossed some borders but I'm somehow still with you
I’ve been checked out; you've been sold out

It's more than the blues, I’ve got to lose
But I'm not about to lose you
It may be a long shot; it may be my last shot
To find you
And bring you back to me

Ready Already

Written By: Good Luck Jane

I recall the day I walked away
Now I wait for you to walk my way
But my way hasn't gone so great
You pull up just to drive away
But you're so fine, Ms. Fine Print

I'm going crazy now
Can’t you see me thumb up waiting now?
Just take me
And say you're ready already
Cuz I'm ready already

Now I’m tied to every word
Since I heard what you've been saying
Now and then you go and call my name
I can't blame you I do the same

You say one thing just to be heard
Heating words until they burn
You faked so I went first
Take a shot I’m still your curse
And I'm tying up every word
Until you miss me worse

Dreamcatcher

Written By: Good Luck Jane

I'm staring at the view of a window scene
Where all the lights are changing just for me
Cuz I cant catch a break and I can’t catch my z's
A quarter mile down the road I bet she's fast asleep

Or maybe she’s awake, just like me
Unsure of who she is, or who she wants to be
There aught to be some one around to paint this scene
It’s a shame when what's meant to be may never be

So Dream catcher please report to me
Am I ever passing thru ought her sleep
So Dream catcher what's it gonna be
Are you stopping her from seeing me?

I can't believe I'm back where I gotta to be
A diver now prepared for when the water's deep
But the sea that I speak have dried up on me
It’s like I’m banking on the team I already beat

Either I'm too proud
Or she's too naive
I’ve just got to clear the cloud
Or let it rain on me
Anything at all to unveil everything
I don’t want to believe we're nothing

Sugar Rush

Written By: Jake Cooper & Joey Busse

I'll be the first to say
I really hate the way
You get upset and try to slam the door in my face
And ill lay it out for you
I hate that thing you do
When you get caught up in who said what
And all my good friends say
I'm washing days away
Lying to myself to think that this is not a waste but

Chorus:
Either way i know ill stay
'Cause you leave me with a sugar rush
Even when i cant stand your taste
Breaking the habits tough
You know I, sometimes think we've had all that we can take
But either way I know I'll stay

'Cause you leave me with a sugar rush

And I hate how you say, the way we should portray
Perfection when we love in the most imperfect way
When i think I've had enough
Give me that sugar rush
Make me believe that perfects close enough to touch

CHORUS

Bridge:
A day will come when we've had more than we can take
Our hearts were nothing more
Than two techtonic plates
That rested on a fault line
That was prone to your mistakes
Don't make our world shake

Believe me

CHORUS

Walking on the Ceiling

Written By: Joey Busse

They told me to believe them
When they said they had it all figured out
But if seeing is believing is the way to go
Then its so hard for me but i have to show ya
That I don't have a single doubt

Like raindrops on the river we fall and we flow downstream
With the waterfall at the end of it all we let the current take our dreams
That's never what it seems

CHORUS
I'm walking on the ceiling
Now I got this feeling
You better start believing when i say
let's live it up on the ceiling
Maybe its time for some changing
The view from here's crazy
So i say let's live it up on the ceiling

I'm walking, I'm walking, I'm walking, walking on the ceiling

The showed me what I could be
but that's alright
cause imma show myself this time
Gotta figure life is bigger than the daily grind
Coffee break vacation and a half off neck tie
Livin' it up in the checkout line

Like raindrops on the river we fall and we flow downstream
With the waterfall at the end of it all we let the current take our dreams
That's never what it seems

CHORUS
I'm walking on the ceiling
Now I got this feeling
You better start believing when i say
let's live it up on the ceiling
Maybe its time for some changing
The view from here's crazy
So i say let's live it up on the ceiling

I'm walking, I'm walking, I'm walking, walking on the ceiling

BRIDGE
I said what about life
said what about times
that you were looking for something through your younger eyes
but now before your river runs dry
Just take a look at yourself and start livin' it up tonight

CHORUS
