"NME, Broken Heart storms downloads chart"

"(Goodluck Jonathan) claim that the world “needs a soundtrack…with fucking big drums.” And we couldn't agree more - NME

"This Is Our Way Out - album review"

“..each song is its own entity and you can definitely hear that it is the creation of individuals with different influences, which when brought together binds effortlessly.” - Buff Bang Pow

"This Is Our Way Out - album review"

“This album brings together all the elements of the band's diverse sound. It would be a travesty to write them off as just another raucous guitar band with the material they have here showing they can indeed throw a curve ball with the likes of title track This Is Our Way Out featuring no guitars and ballad Away From Here showing they can do a haunting ballad as well as write some great catchy songs like Fall Of America and Fatman.” 3/5 - Entertainment Focus

"This Is Our Way Out - album review"

“The highlights from the Brighton noiseniks’ debut are the emotive ‘Lights Burn My Eyes’ and the big sounding stadium rock ‘Backs to the Wall’... The hooks are catchy the lyrics are passionate and the music (although there is one or two dud tracks) shows promising signs of a much more famous band. Just give them time.” 7/10 - There Goes The Fear

"This Is Our Way Out - album review"

“For those already besotted with the eclectic mix of sound these lads produce, ‘This Is Our Way Out’ is set to become your new favourite record, for the rest, meet your new musical addiction... It will leave you kicking yourself for not hearing them sooner and praising whatever deity takes your fancy for this chance to catch up.” - More Than The Music

"This Is Our Way Out - album review"

The Brighton based five piece's intense, urgent songs are more of a soundtrack to an apocalyptic, nightmare vision of Britian's Big Society. their way out, it seems, is a good one. - The Fly

"This Is Our Way Out - album review"

Muscular yet sensitive math rock. - Q Magazine

Bio

Goodluck Jonathan’s set-up echoes most brilliant bands throughout history. A collective of five very different individuals gelled together by a mutual love and serious appreciation of music and a less serious though equally passionate love of rum, mocking the percussion section, and annoying the Nigerian President by misdirecting his Twitter traffic to their profile (plus other unmentionable exploits expected of a band their age).
Their musical influences and loves run the spectrum of genres: from melodic indie to dance to rock, the latter mainly championed by the drum and bass fraternity, “(Goodluck Jonathan) claim that the world “needs a soundtrack…with fucking big drums.” And we couldn’t agree more”. – NME.
An eclecticism displayed when the band brought in Breton to remix their track ‘Broken Heart’ mixing Goodluck Jonathan’s dynamic, melodic song with dirty dance beats. For Goodluck Jonathan wholeheartedly believe genres are a chain around a musicians neck and their aim is to “blur the lines between genres until they merge into one barrier between good music and shit music”

–Goodluck Jonathan. Amen.
