"Morgen La Civita Named June “Best Vocalist Of The Month” With Her Song “You’re Gonna Change”"

“You’re Gonna Change” is a graceful, heartfelt ballad which demonstrates La Civita’s ability as both a quality singer and songwriter. The music arrangement features just piano and strings, but this instrumentation effectively accentuates La Civita’s expressive, soulful vocal performance. This recording was expertly produced by Jake R. Tanner (La Civita’s husband) who is a successful recording engineer who has won two Grammy awards in the Latin music field." - Singer Universe

"I love Morgen’s voice…smooth, smoky and silky at the same time. I feel like I’m listening to Carole King round two when I hear this…with a little funky twist. There might even be a little Bonnie Raitt nod. I applaud Ms. Civita’s skill on vocal delivery and well-placed voice inflections at effective moments in the song. An artist of today who’s tapping into the vibey songwriting of the 70’s." - Holly Hutchinson

"Women of Substance Radio"

"Hauntingly beautiful" - Bree Noble

"That Dutch Guy Kickass Indie Jams"

"Together with her piano-driven fusion of soul and blues, the haunting vocals of this mysterious sister got me all crazy! Silky, smokey, smooth!" - That Dutch Guy

Morgen La Civita is an independent singer/songwriter who writes with partner and Grammy-winning engineer and producer, Jake R. Tanner. Both are originally from Northern New Jersey, and have lived in New York, Las Vegas and now reside in Pennsylvania. Their musical style is mostly piano driven (a nod to Jake's classical training) with electronic and world influences. Morgen's blues and soul - bent vocals are smooth, laid back and sometimes ethereal. Her lyric writing style is heavy in tone takes it's cues from her personal life and recalls the folksy story-telling of the 60's and 70's.  Some of her influences are Nina Simone, Annie Lennox,  Linda Perry, Joan Osborne and Joni Mitchell to name a few.

Jake and Morgen have been working together since 2007. Jake's background was mostly rooted in Latin and Jazz music, while Morgen's was in poetry and voice-over work. Tanner has two Grammy awards with nearly a dozen nominations and Top 10 Billboard hits. La Civita has nearly 40 album credits, a second place win in American Songwriter Magazine's Lyric contest, as well as several top 5 placements with Singer Universe and Songwriter Universe. She has received airplay in major market stations such as WWOZ in New Orleans and 101.1 New York.

Currently, the duo is revamping their sound and working on more material for T.V. and movie licensing with a heavy focus on scoring.

Most recently, La Civita was one of four Best Music winners in the Indie Horror Music Festival and was also nominated for best editor for her song "This Wicked World". She is also a winner for Best Music Video for the June, 2018 Indie Film Festival awards.
