"Goodnight Goddess"

Whenever I see that a band hails from Austin, Texas, I get excited. I mean, that’s one great music scene that they can boast of. Goodnight Goddess hopes to ensnare more than just anticipation by delivering the goods... Vocally they’re truly blessed with a singer who can growl a bit and croon in the high and mid ranges with the best of them... These songs show promise, they could certainly own radio... - Smother.net

"Goodnight Goddess"

Wow, this is pretty impressive… This is some really awesome stuff. To me, this is a no brainer… (Oprah vs. Halliburton) is a killer song… (Goodnight Goddess is) one of the most interesting and unique bands that I have heard. - TAXI Listener ID 168

"Goodnight Goddess"

(Goodnight Goddess') songs demand attention… and they certainly got a hold of mine! The mixture of instrumental sonics and steadfast arrangements; the vocals move around and ride confidently over the assembled power of the accomplished playing. Lots of emotions coming through for the lyric content that provides images and word play to offer more of a feel than a direct story line. Within that feeling comes excellent character development and texture.

The power of the vocals and the determination for the playing come together admirably on “As the Sunflower Turns on Her God.” The male screamo vocals are a nice match for the demon channeling of the female counterpart voice.

Both tracks (“Sunflower” and “Quarters”) have power and determination.

"Goodnight Goddess"

“Fame! Fame! Fame!” shows evidence great and exciting things to come. (The album is) brilliantly crafted, insightful and surprisingly advanced for a debut…

An attentive ear will notice the bands progression from a pop-driven, four on the floor writing style, rooted in 90’s alternative, to a more modern and progressive rock style teetering on artsy and drawing from a more diverse array of influences.

Lyrically, the album follows the same progression from adolescent-esque heartache and personal struggle to more thoughtful themes of anti-commercialism and consumerism as well as critiques of pop-culture’s ideology and pressures, namely on the American youth.

The group’s live show is littered with eye candy of the weird, passive-aggressive and androgynous nature. It’s a production, it’s loud, big and epic… It’s the lost art of a real rock show characterized by slamming guitars, the frantic flailing of limbs, microphone twirling, gyrating hips… and lots of fancy foot-work. And with all of the debauchery of bodies colliding into one another, the occasional busted lip or chipped tooth is inevitable. The boys seem to enjoy it.

Goodnight Goddess is hands-down, unequaled by any regionally-touring act. These boys belong in an international market.

Bio

"It is difficult to ignore the unbridled intensity of this band... "

"It takes most first-timers a moment to realize he's male, but the group will transition in seconds from the frailty of Bright Eyes to the frenzied aggression of System of a Down..."

"If there is a bone in your body that appreciates modern rock music, walk, run or crawl to the next Goodnight Goddess show. It won't be long before these boys become expensive."

Could tour with...

Muse, Fly Leaf, Blindside, The Mars Volta, Coheed and Cambria, My Chemical Romance, System of a Down, Circa Survive, Deftones, Army of Anyone

Goodnight Goddess' live show...

is littered with eye candy of a magnetic, passive-aggressive and androgynous nature. It's the lost art of a true rock show, characterized by slamming guitars, flailing limbs, mic-twirling, gyrating hips, spastic dancing, bass-spinning, bodies colliding and a drummer who splatters his kit with blood from his own busted knuckles. The volatile energy and the alluring nature of the spectacle invokes slacked jaws and exclamations of wonder, which is something rare for a rock band who writes songs you can actually sing along to.

Quotes:

TAXI Listener ID #226

(Goodnight Goddess') songs are presented with lots of energy and attitude (a good thing) and feature very hooky and memorable musical and melodic parts I normally have something to say in terms of constructive criticism, this time all I want to say is: hang in there! As far as I can tell, you guys have got it, and there are not many who do

These are my first 10 marks ever.
