"My Little Ghost Friend"

"So you want a song that'll be lodged inside of your brain all day long? Look no further than Good on Paper's "The Message," which is undeniably catchy and lovely and all those good things you expect from your favorite songs. I don't know too much about this band except that they're from L.A., they've been working on a full-length album and they write some classic-sounding pop songs with boy-girl harmonies you'll fall in love with. Kinda like what would happen if the Velvet Underground met Pavement and had a cute lil baby!" - Ginny

"Dividing By Zero Will Get You Nowhere"

"...this young band can write a song or two. With alternating male and female vocals, music that squarely falls into the ever-expanding "genre" of indie-rock, and hooks-o-plenty, this L.A.-based band is definitely coming up fast."
- Jeff

"Pop Music Album Review"

Good On Paper have a melancholic air that is reminiscent of the Pixies at their finest. But really they have an incredibly unique thing going on here. Singer/guitarist David Chandler sounds like he is from another planet and the musicianship of this duo is solid. - Pop Music

"Pendulum Review"

One of the most interesting pop projects I have listened to in quite some time. Good on Paper have created 4 excellent themes of pure pop music with this debut EP. Highly recommended! - Pendulum

"Flavorpill"

"Good on Paper have a familiar-but-elusive sound that draws on decades of naïve pop, from Jonathan Richman to Belle & Sebastian. The coed trio has Oingo Boingo's brainy hooks, but calmer, and with a strange vocabulary of surprises — like unexpected interludes of fuzzy feedback and the occasional jazzy flourish" - Flavorpill - Flavorpill Magazine

Bio

With their honest and smart songs, Good on Paper sit at the literate indie pop bar with other skewed melodicists like the Silver Jews, the Magnetic Fields, and Modest Mouse.

Like the terse phrases that you mutter to yourself when no one is around, Good on Paper’s words are often as memorable as the hooks that they contain. David Chandler sings his sarcastic pop anthems in an unapologetic baritone, with every carefully chosen word pulling its own weight. Multi-instrumentalist Rebecca McInnes sings in angelic counterpoint to David’s bratty toss-offs, balancing out the duo's stripped down pop sound.

After some recording experiments with a full band, David & Rebecca found that their songs shined the brightest when performed as a duo. With the help of a cheap drum machine, some old synths, and an omnibus of toy instruments, Good on Paper rehearse and record all their songs in a tiny apartment in Silverlake, CA.
