"Goody Grace Links With Jesse Rutherford For "Memorie$""

Goody Grace moved from Manitoba, Canada to Los Angeles last summer, shortly after he turned 18 years old. He was invited to a friend's party last December, and he performed his song called "Memorie$" there. That party is where he met Jesse Rutherford, lead singer of The Neighbourhood, and the two became friends. "Jesse has become like a big brother to me," Grace says.

Today Goody Grace is finally releasing a video for that song, featuring Jesse and a rare Jaden Smith cameo.

"'Memorie$'" is a song about how quickly life can change," Grace says. "I went from sitting in class in Canada, to California working with my favorite artists within a year. The video is pretty much my friends and I in LA doing the stupid things we do." - Pigeons and Planes

"The Fix, Vol. 5: Goody Grace, Earl Sweatshirt, Alex Wiley and more"

The song I heard above transcends all earlier expectations I had for Goody Grace, who will open on tour for emerging Atlantic Records star Gnash from September 28 until November 6.

My first time I met Goody Grace in person, he impressed. He carried a unique swagger with his shades and acoustic guitar, almost like a young Bob Dylan. Goody Grace played with Gnash on a “play in the park” tour — it was a unique, special experience for all fans in Silver Lake who saw the performance.

Never, however, would I have expected to write about him for my rap blog. Now almost exactly a year later, I’m glad to change my mind and share this new track. His press kit explains that he was just as influenced by folk legend Dylan as he was by rap icons Gucci Mane and Wiz Khalifa.

Flash forward just a year later, he also featured on the new album by rapper Futuristic (which we wrote about here). He is also working with Cisco Adler, who has collabed with Wiz and Lil Jon.

That direct lineage shows on this new track, which brags sincerely excellent visuals as well. Stay tuned for a bright future from Goody Grace; I hope to catch him on tour with Gnash this fall. - Rhyme Junkie

"Goody Grace Releases Collaboration With Jesse Rutherford and A$AP Ant ‘Memorie$’"

Canadian born but now LA based singer/songwriter Goody Grace has released a new single, ‘Memorie$’. The song is a collaboration with Jesse Rutherford of The Neighbourhood, as well as A$AP Ant. It’s out via Bananabeat Records.

Goody told Pigeons and Planes in a recent interview:
“‘Memorie$’ is a song about how quickly life can change. I went from sitting in class in Canada, to California working with my favorite artists within a year.”
Coming from Selkirk, Manitoba, Goody Grace has been mentored by Cisco Adler, since Goody contacted Adler, via Twitter, at the age of 16. He moved to Los Angeles last year in order to follow his dream, and has since put in the long yards writing for both himself and others. Recording daily has helped shape his natural talent into the well rounded artist he is today – one with a point of view and a voice that needs to be heard.
Goody co-wrote ‘Flower’ for Cody Simpson, and also features on – as well as co-wrote – the track, ‘That One Song’, for rising Atlantic Records star, gnash. The song has had over one million Spotify streams to date, while Goody’s previous song, ‘2 Shots’, which also features gnash, had close to 300,000 streams on Soundcloud in its first week. The pair recently finished up a sold out tour together, and are about to do it all over again, starting on September 28, at Club Red, in Mesa, Arizona.
Check out the video for the abridged version of the song, which features collaborator Jesse Rutherford, as well as Jaden Smith, and Harry Hudson: - Essentially Pop

Bio

What happens when a kid from a small town comes of age in the Internet era and is influenced by Bob Dylan and Morrissey as much as he is by Wiz Khalifa and Gucci Mane? You get Goody Grace. He plays his 6 string and sings with emotion and raps melodically about being a kid with a dream. He has been mentored by music guru Cisco Adler since the age of 16 after contacting him via twitter. Since then, countless hours writing for himself and others and daily recording sessions have helped shape this natural talent into a well rounded artist with a point of view and a voice waiting to be heard.

He recently co-wrote Cody Simpson's single "Flower" and Co-wrote and is featured on Atlantic Records rising star Gnash's song "That One Song" which has well over 1 Million Spotify streams and counting. Goody's last song 2 Shots featuring Gnash did close to 300k plays on Soundcloud in its first week and the close collaborators recently wrapped a sold out tour together.

Goody Grace is poised to be the answer to his own question. Can a kid from small town Manitoba with a big dream make it? The answer is yes and it will be a pleasure to watch this kid take over the entire world with his talent and charm. Stay tuned and follow the young future...
