"Always Here For You"

Well-received electronic music is about as abundant as oxygen these days; there’s an astounding amount of artists and producers putting together ever-engaging works through ever-evolving methods, and it seems that which each new day comes a new sound that instrumental world can’t get enough of. Goon Bags, a duo with roots in St. Louis and Toronto, is the newest tandem to bring forth sonic spectacularity, and their remix of Housemate’s “Always Here For You” is as good an introduction as any to their seemingly massive interpretations. The original, incredilbe in its own right, relied heavily on its intermittent indie-electronic outbursts to emanate intrigue, but Goon Bags has done away with all kinds of reserve with their injections, pumping up the pace of the track with rapid synth melodies and powering bass. It’s a whole lot of sound to digest in one sitting, so if you need to listen a few times to appreciate the track fully, don’t sweat it. - HillyDilly

"DAD Mix 120: Goon Bags"

The crazy expanding world of trap music includes new worthy names popping up every day. Goon Bags didn’t just pop up today, as they’ve been around and bubbling for the entirety of 2014, and are definitely a name to pay attention to. The St.Louis/Toronto-based duo met over the Internet and linked up over at r/Trap and have since become a dynamic duo. Today, we got a new mix from the Goons and it’s a doozy. The crazy thing about this mix is how Goon Bags weaves wide-ranging styles of trap music in such a way that could get you thinking about what exactly IS trap music. There’s remixes of R&B and rap like T-Pain’s “Up Down,” PARTYNEXTDOOR’s “Recognize,” Bobby Grant’s “Ride With Us,” then there’s also straight electronic-styled, R&B-influenced trap from the likes of Lido alongside heavier numbers like Baauer’s “Soulja,” as well as their own original material, like “Freedom.” This is a perfect mix as you get in the weekend mode and get yourself suave for the turnup this weekend. - DoAndroidsDance?

"PREMIERE: Bobby Grant – Ride With Us (Goon Bags Remix)"

Future bass is taking off as a genre and with producers like Lido at the helm the genre will continue to grow. For their latest release Goon Bags decided to dip into the future bass sound and they did it with a bang. Choosing to remix Bobby Grant’s “Ride With Us” they play the vocals wonderfully against their beautiful chords. They wanted Run The Trap readers to have the first listen so check it out and grab your free download below. - Run The Trap

Bio

A chance URL (internet) meeting has produced IRL (in real life) bangers for Stephen and Paul, aka fiercely independent and rising DJ/production duo the Goon Bags. Respectively hailing from Toronto, Ontario and St. Louis, Missouri, unlike most production teams that create tracks in the same room, these two have never met in person. First getting in touch via a trap music forum on Reddit in January 2013, the duo has been producing together online ever since.

Calling their style of pop-friendly productions “hard-to-define,” and more “different, abstract and eclectic,” in their first year as a unit, Goon Bags garnered support from the likes of gLAdiator, Victor Niglio, Herobust, The Hi-Yahs and Spenda C. Furthermore, their original tracks “Pop It,”  “Ass Up,” and "Invaders" have been featured on Carnage’s “Incredible” radio show on Sirius XM’s Electric Area,  the
“Diplo and Friends” program on BBC Radio 1 and as well on Annie Nightingale's legendary BBC Radio 1 show.
