Imagine the melodic feel of James Blunt, the poetic lyrics of John Mayer, and the edgy, raspiness of Bryan Adam’s voice all rolled into one. Gord D Birtch is in the house!

Gord D is a singer/songwriter living on the gorgeous Sunshine Coast of B.C. He has unequivocally mastered a unique style and sound. He writes songs with the adage, “less is more,” and arranges vocals to create something engaging. The outcome--songs that are intensely passionate and memorable. He drives a rock ballad with haunting passion! But most notably, his music is catchy, and hook oriented.
He loves hearing, “Dude! I’ve had that melody in my head for days, and I can’t seem to shake it”. He performs locally from Egmont to Gibsons. In addition to his original gigs, he plays bass with two cover bands; a local rock dance band, and a smokin’ blues band. He has also performed at the legendary “Commodore Ballroom.” He also released a single with his son under the moniker “Crazy sons of Birtch’s” that received airplay through out the lower mainland.

Most of my close friends and family tend to call me Gordie, hence the "Gord D". I live my life with passion and without regret. I love the somewhat cheesy but profound, "Yesterday's history, tomorrow's a mystery, today's a gift. That's why it's called "The Present". I believe in both the ride and the destination. I look for the positive in everyone and everything. Hitting the sweet spot with writing and performing music is like a slow burn orgasm. Ecstasy. Pleasure indescribable. I believe in the intimate connection between the Artist and the Audience. The sharing of energy. I believe in the power of love. Perhaps the most enduring quality of our human species.

Gord D is the youngest of five children, born from a musical family. Singing songs at the kitchen sink with his mom and sisters when he was four. Driving his sister crazy by singing harmonies to commercials on the tube. But his eldest brother Ken was his mentor, a very talented successful singer/songwriter who played numerous live venues with his band throughout Alberta . This spurred Gord D’s interest in his own playing. He landed his first gig playing solo at a wedding when he was only 12 years old!
Gord D is a multi-instrumentalist. He plays Guitar, Bass, Drums and sings. He started writing songs by the age of 14. He has written and played music from various genres such as, pop, rock, country/rock, alt./rock, reggae, and blues.
Gord D has an insatiable appetite for writing and performing original material. He is currently writing voraciously, and recording demos in his small studio in prep for the upcoming album, Tastes Like More.
